No, the egg came from something that was slightly behind on the evolutionary scale to what came out of the egg. And so on and so forth.

Yes an egg did, but maybe not as we know it. It was an evolutionary mistake (I do not believe the Bible Creation story) and survived because it proved useful. :thumbup:;)
