Can anyone that watched the Argentina game tell me if Papa played? Seen him play for Velez a few times, looks a tidy player on occasion. If so, how'd he get on? I'm fearing the worst after hearing that result tbh! lol

Papa played, what more can I say, he was as bad as everyone. I am sure we will see plenty more from him.

In a matter of days I have seen a vintage Argentina to one of the worst international displays I have ever witnessed.

I am debating doing a hat trick of games and staying up for Brazil. Even they are shite at the moment. You just never know in SA.

Oh I seeeee...you weren't ruling out they'd use that excuse.

Yeah fook knows what was wrong with them. Only saw 15 minutes of it but they were pretty shocking. Maybe Maradona got tempted by the local produce and passed it around the dressing room.

Seriously, I don't know what I have just witnessed. Bolivia were class, I can't believe they were second bottom before this, anybody can really beat anybody, but this is beyond a beating, Bolivia spanked them senseless.

Well done to them.

Were they playing 3 at the back again with Zanetti and Heinze as two of their defenders? That was always going to end in tears.

If I had Sky I'd be staying up. Did the Libertadores all-nighter on many an occaision.

:S

Now you mention it, that could be the reason.

Ecuador should be 2-0 easy. Paraguay, the top team, don't want it at the moment.

I am in bed watching on the laptop, you can't beat a Libertadores session. Love it.

LDU / Fluminense were two of the best games of football I've seen in a while. Great final.

I didn't see it, I heard they were special though.

Bugger staying up for Brazil, I think I will struggle staying awake for this second half. lol

Paraguay have levelled it in the 92 minute. 1-1

Good game.

Ecuador deserved to win.

Chile and Uruguay played out a goaless draw. I was impressed with Chile.

Brazil beat bottom team Peru 3-0, I didn't stay awake for that one but will catch the highlights soon.

What was that keepers name who used to play for Paraguay. He was my hero for a while. Used to go up and take the free-kicks that were in shooting range. I had money on him to be 1st scorer in a match in '98 World Cup I think it was. He had one when it was 0-0 and I'm sure it hit the bar! Or just missed by a shave

That's him. What a guy! Used to always be Paraguay on Fifa back in the day and try and get free-kicks outside the area so I could take one with him.

Hernanes played well last night in Sao Paulo's 2-1 victory, quite a good game actually and a very good stream too.

I think he could be the next big star to come and play in Europe.

Just catching up with the Copa Libertadores highlights from last night, I had to laugh when I seen Maxi Lopez scoring for Gremio, what a flop he was at Barca.

Managed to catch the tail end of the Sao Paulo / Medellin match, from Colombia, on Setanta last night at nearly 4 in the morning. Sao Paulo lost 2-1 which pleased me, never really liked them, always been a Corinthians man (Corinthians beat SP 2-1 on Sunday :) ). They also beat a lower league team called Mistro Tres Lagoas 2-0 last night in the Brazilian Cup.

Ronaldo's been spaffing the goals in since his move there too. Their next game is on the 19th, the second leg of the league semi-final tie agianst Sao Paulo.

Velez managed to beat San Lorenzo 1-0 on Sunday. They're top of the Argie league at the minute.

So a good week so far for my Corinthians and my Velez

Hernanes is by far the most talented player in the Brazilian domestic game. How he's only been capped once by Brazil baffles me, he's 23, and Brazil don't exactly have an abundance of midfielders in his mould.

Expect the big clubs to come sniffing.

Amazing really....

Yes I expect him to be playing in Europe very soon.

Watched the game between Sao Paulo and Cali (Colombia) last night. Cali took the lead but quality ultimately told, Dagoberto scored twice to make it 2-1, that's how it finished.

Velez beat Arsenal on the 18th, and are still top. :D Maxi Moralez (who'll be some player) and Hernan Lopez have been getting a few goals between them which helps.

Corinthians beat Sao Paulo the day after, in the second leg of the semi. Douglas and Ronaldo scored within the space of two minutes after half time. He's once again confirming his stauts as one of the world's greatest goal getters.

Another good week for my South American lot.
