Darkzzz_ Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Just thought I would start this thread because of my love for football in this part of the world. Watched a good display from Argentina tonight as they ran out 4-0 winners in Maradona's first competitive game. If you didn't see the game then try and catch the highlights, Messi yet again showing why he is the best player in the world, it was a genius show from the lad. Was great to see him get a goal and I enjoyed seeing Kun Aguero score. Good night of footbal which started with Paraguay who are leading the way, they slipped up to Uraguay 2-0. Brazil tomorrow night, 10pm kick off, looking forward to it.
Ultra Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Venezuela are the whipping boys of South America. The Argies will find their next game, away to Bolivia, a lot tougher. Let's see how Messi and Aguero do there...

Let's see how Messi and Aguero do there... Venezuela aren't quite the whipping boys, Peru are and Bolivia are second bottom. No matter what, last night was a good display. I agree with you though, Bolivia away will be tough, Messi is very consistent at the moment though for both club and country. Which is great to see. I am looking forward to Brazil tonight, they will be in for a tough game, I can see them winning by a few goals though. Highlights from last night:

Highlights from last night: He (messi) looks and plays so much like maradona here, with his runs to the by line etc....brilliant. he is by far the best player in the world, and the good thing about barca is that all of their games are available to watch on the net so you can get to see him every week....and he very rarely disapoints. Nathko, do you watch the south american leagues on the net at all? i have to say argentina look good for the next world cup if their league is anythng to go by.

Yes I agree, obviously he is human and has a bad game like all the top players, but at the moment he is a different class. I watch some of the Argentinian league games, mostly Boca. My girlfriend's dad has a satellite receiver which picks up most of the Argentinian and Brazilian league games and we get all the qualifiers too. Failing that I would usually watch online like you. The Primera Division in Argentina is a fantastic league, the talent is so good. Argentina have a great national side at the moment, but I wouldn't like to say who could win next years world cup. So many teams are looking good at the moment. Brazil are on at 10pm tonight, should be some good streams available online, it is also on SS as well.
Floating Fox Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Brazil were woefull. Ecuador should have battered 'em from what I saw. Also didn't realise they'd equalised! How are the mighty Chilean's getting on? - 1 up away at Peru! C'mon!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Argentina - Velez Brazil - Corinthians Don't watch many of the national team games but always "get my fix" of the Libertadores and Argy and Brazilian leagues.
Darkzzz_ Posted 30 March 2009 Author Posted 30 March 2009 Good stuff. Ecuador deserved the 3 points last night for sure, they battered Brazil. Julio Cesar is some keeper though, he kept them in it. I would be very surprised if Dunga is the manager for the world cup 2010, that's if they qualify. Chile looked pretty classy on the highlights I just watched.
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 April 2009 Author Posted 1 April 2009 Well done to Venezuela last night who picked up a excellent win over Colombia. Juan Arango's free kick was very nice.
Joe. Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Argies are losing 2-1 to Bolivia with 37 minutes played.
Daggers Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Well done to Venezuela last night who picked up a excellent win over Colombia.Juan Arango's free kick was very nice. Ven pull out some results every qualification - but they'll never progress as the nation loves baseball, football is always going to be a distant second. Colombia really need to sort something out, corruption remains rife from the ground up and players are nothing more than cattle to the club owners. There is no reason why Colombia couldn't be qualifying every four years, the talent is there.

I am sure they will get it right, although like you say, they do have many problems. 3-1 at half-time. Make that 4-1, after that stunning display the other night, Argentina are being simply, dicked here. I know Bolivia is a tough place to go, history has proved that, Diego out!! Bolivia are worthy of this. The Argentinians are not coping with the challenge, Bolivia are committing men and the Argentinians are not!
lildave3 Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 What the cock?! No doubt Messi will rise and score 17 goals if Nath's reports are anything to go by
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 April 2009 Author Posted 1 April 2009 What's going on?! 5-1 now, they are awesome, Diego has got it so so wrong. What the cock?!No doubt Messi will rise and score 17 goals if Nath's reports are anything to go by Not tonight I am afraid, he has been awful, as have the rest of them, at least I admit it when teams/players play badly, unlike some. You would obviously need to be watching to see what I mean. Tonight, Bolivia, I salute you! I love South American football.
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 April 2009 Author Posted 1 April 2009 6-1 !!!!!! I have to laugh, Bolivia have been head and shoulders above them. Nobody would have predicted this. Maradona will walk after this.
lildave3 Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 6-1 !!!!!!I have to laugh, Bolivia have been head and shoulders above them. Nobody would have predicted this. Maradona will walk after this. Good god. What is going on there
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 April 2009 Author Posted 1 April 2009 Good god. What is going on there Seriously, I don't know what I have just witnessed. Bolivia were class, I can't believe they were second bottom before this, anybody can really beat anybody, but this is beyond a beating, Bolivia spanked them senseless. Well done to them.
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 April 2009 Author Posted 1 April 2009 Blame it on the thin air? Hahaha. Well done, Bolivia. I wouldn't rule that out you know. I hope the next one is as entertaining, just about to watch Paraguay away to Ecuador, can Paraguay bounce back? I am not even going to make a prediction!!
lildave3 Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Brazil on at 2am, that's team you want to be watching
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Can anyone that watched the Argentina game tell me if Papa played? Seen him play for Velez a few times, looks a tidy player on occasion. If so, how'd he get on? I'm fearing the worst after hearing that result tbh!
Shrenchel Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 I wouldn't rule that out you know.I hope the next one is as entertaining, just about to watch Paraguay away to Ecuador, can Paraguay bounce back? I am not even going to make a prediction!! It really aint an excuse for losing 6-1 to Bolivia. I played football everyday in La Paz without any problems at all and I was smoking 25 a day. Bolivia have got absolutely spanked on home turf by their sea level friends plenty of times.

I'm not the one who could be using that as a excuse. I don't agree with these excuses, I watched it and I can say for sure that Bolivia 100% deserved a win by this margin. Ecuador have started well against group leaders Paraguay. Very open game though.
