The Doctor Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 his interview after the match http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_2/7990038.stm got a point about the oakley kick (he should have gone)
Bert Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 To be fair, he's pretty much spot on. Penalty decision very similar to that of Clemence v Southampton last season i thought.
Guest Bilo Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Who cares? Southend will be going to Wycombe and Brentford next season, whereas we won't. Leicester (or more accurately, Matty Fryatt) put five past them without reply this season. Couldn't care less, we're champions!
Dan Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Was never a penalty and probably should of been a red card for us. But who cares, hope they enjoy going to St. James Park in Exeter while we enjoy St. James Park in Newcastle.
Ultra Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 To be fair, he's pretty much spot on. Penalty decision very similar to that of Clemence v Southampton last season i thought. Possibly, but what goes around, comes around. The Southend number 8 (McCormack) was an absolute scumbag. He deserved everything he got.
Nath Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 I thought it was defo a peno And their player getting a head injury or whatever. Oakley went for the ball, 50/50. shutup you tosspot.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 I thought pen was harsh yesterday but having seen it again this morning, the guy moved his arm to the ball. Even though the spin was bad, it was deliberate. Penalty.
J.Lisemore Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 I wouldn't say he was being arrogant. I think he was just p****d off that his side had the better chances and couldn't put one away. Not mentioning the fact that they have near enough missed out on the play offs now. Ps - deffo peno.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 1 - Gotta admit I saw the highlights on the Championship and it did look a pretty harsh decision for the penalty but i suppose it was a penalty none the less by the letter of the law, unlucky though. 2 - Who cares, Were champions!
lou Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Looked a very harsh pen live but havin seen it on the telly this mornin his arm did move out slightly towards the ball and Ive seen loads given like that. They should have had one later when the exact same thing happened to one of our players and yeah we did seem to get more decisions than they did but hey... weve had plenty of refs biased against us all season so it makes a change and who gives a damn....... WERE CHAMPIONS!!
Daggers Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Tillson needs to learn to deal with things a bit better - you wouldn't find Pearson carping like that...and maybe that's one of the reasons one team is going up and the other is staying down.
