iancognito Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 No wonder they reckon we were a physical side, Billy Kee would scare the bejesus out of most CBs let alone kids his own age. Big congrats to the lads though, keeping us successful at all levels
Leicesterboi Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Everytime I watch Billy Kee he impresses me. He causes defenders all sorts of problems through his speed and strength and for a lad of his build his touch is top draw. And not to mention, he knows where the net is!! How many more goals does he need to score to get a sniff at the first team? I would love it if as a reward he gets some minutes against Crewe! He deserves it! Well done Billy and the rest of the lads
LeicesterHarry74 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I am at most matches so if people want a quicker match report let me know The club apparently have really high hopes for the team next year. The forwards they have should score even more than this year On Saturday the match was easy even though Joe Cobb got injured really early. The next couple of games should be fun as Leicester still have a chance to catch Tottenham
davieG Posted 27 April 2009 Author Posted 27 April 2009 Better late than never - from OS Academy Close In Posted on: Mon 27 Apr 2009 Leicester City's under 18 side kept up the pressure on Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table following their 3-0 victory at Chelsea on Saturday. The victory means that City are now only one-point behind the league leaders, who could only manage a draw on the day. Elliott Chamberlain and Billy Kee (2) grabbed the goals for the Foxes on the day. Academy Manager. Jon Rudkin, said: "I was delighted with the way that we played on the day and I would rank that as one of our most accomplished performances of the season to date - especially when you take into consideration the youthfulness of our side . "Chelsea had an array of international stars on show , but we created the greater amount of chances which was reflected in the final scoreline. In fact, you could say we were a little unfortunate not to score one or two more. "We have now scored 50 goals in the ten games that we have played since the turn of the year. That makes us the highest scorers within the Premier Academy League set up." City: Ambrusic, O'Neill, Cobb (Yusef), Bolger, Parkes, C King, Moore, Hicks, Milne (John), Chamberlain (Schlupp), Kee.
eaststandtom Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 From the Chelsea site.YOUTH REPORT: CHELSEA 0 LEICESTER CITY 3 Posted on: Sat 25 Apr 2009 A depleted Chelsea youth team was soundly beaten by a strong Leicester side at Cobham on Saturday afternoon. Despite creating their fair share of chances, the young Chelsea side were unable to find a breakthrough against the more physical, direct visitors. Going behind to an early goal did not help the cause, as a long ball up field was not dealt with, the Leicester forward outpacing makeshift right-back Jacopo Sala and curling beyond goalkeeper Sam Walker. Chelsea responded by playing football, Conor Clifford, Daniel Philliskirk and Tom Taiwo making a tidy midfield three, while Milan Lalkovic delivered a string of dangerous crosses from his right-wing position, creating chances that were not taken. A second Leicester goal just before half-time was fortuitous to say the least, Lalkovic's sliced clearance falling to a forward who made no mistake with his unlikely chance. It was a big blow for the Blues, who replaced Taiwo with Portuguese youth international Aliu 'Kaby' Djalo at half-time. It was his colleague in the centre Philliskirk though who had the best chance to pull a goal back early on. One on one with the Leicester keeper, he took too long deciding how best to finish allowing the angle to be narrowed and the save to be made. Leicester's final goal was another ball over the top, centre-halves Tom Hayden and Ben Gordon, both more comfortable at full-back, were outpaced and the ball despatched past Walker. It was simple stuff, but coach Dermot Drummy believes the experience was an important one for his players. 'They played a very strong side, their full FA Youth Cup side. We gave away an early goal which didn't help, and then missed a number of chances,' he analysed. 'It was disappointing but we were against a strong side that will probably win their league, a very direct, physical side and they deserved the victory. WIth Ben Gordon and Tom Hayden at centre-half, with Rohan Ince out with a knee injury, they found it difficult to adapt. Sometimes with two full-backs playing there and Sala playing at right back, you are found wanting against a very forceful side, who do what they do very well.' There remains just one league fixture left for the Academy, a trip to Watford this coming Saturday morning, with a 10.30am kick-off. Chelsea team v Leicester (4-3-3): Sam Walker; Jacopo Sala, Tom Hayden, Ben Gordon, Nikki Ahamed; Conor Clifford, Tom Taiwo (sub Aliu Djalo h-t), Daniel Philliskirk; Milan Lalkovic, Adam Phillip, Gokhan Tore. the guys has a talent for spinning things around! fair play. even i was seething with injustice at poor chelsea losing after reading that report Winging, patronising, excuse making report. You lost 3-0 to the better team on the day - to use your own word - SIMPLE
AyewJoking Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Anyway, whatever happened to that kid who won football icon?
Nugent Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Anyway, whatever happened to that kid who won football icon? He's been on loan at MK and Northampton but had to return due to injury.
Jonezy Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 Just want to thank the academy, for giving me the chance, to give my Chelsea supporting mate at my math class a hard time today! Is Billy Kee is next Rooney? He looks like a right nutter at a young age just like Rooney did.
footballerconz Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Does any know whats happening with jorrin john. Ive heard that chlesea are keeping an eye on him. Is this true ?? Shocking because he doesnt seem to b playing much for the u 18 side. Mose appearances recently have been from the bench..

Is this true ??Shocking because he doesnt seem to b playing much for the u 18 side. Mose appearances recently have been from the bench.. Jorrin seems to have improved fairly steadily - his decision-making seemed much better last time I watched him - but it is not unusual at this stage that he would be making limited appearances for the under 18's. Jorrin is a wispish lad and City would doubtless wish to be careful about exposing him too much to the attentions of considerably bigger and stronger opponents at this stage of his development. On top of that, there is the need to ensure that the whole squad gets a fair share of opportunity which has certainly seemed to be the policy in my experience these last few years. Doubtless he will play a bigger part next season.
