davieG Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Sigh. We must have the worst injury record in football.I can't remember the last time we had a first eleven out. They're all out now aren't they
dandannieldanok Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Wales will struggle to beat Azerbaijan in Baku if they're short of hunger and commitment. Azerbaijan may not be very good, but they're much better than the pub teams of Andorra and San Marino. 0-0 draw imo.

Andy King would put them to the sword, just depends on whether Toshack dares to use him.
Finnegan Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 <_< DavieG. And I think it will be hard, personally. But I can see us edging it. We tend to pull it out of the bag away from home for some reason and I can see nicking it. Earnie's got a massive point to prove and if he starts I can see him murdering that defense.
FoxesFan123 Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 The Wales squad really has been hit hard with injuries. They're down to the last 6 midfielders: Allen (Swansea) Edwards (Wolves) Tudur Jones (Swansea) King (Leicester) Ledley (Cardiff) Ramsey (Arsenal)
Finnegan Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 It's pretty depressing. I think Edwards is the oldest of the lot and he's only taken off in the last eighteen months. Ramsey's the stand out talent there and he plays about 10 games, in all competitions, a year for Arsenal if he's lucky. He'll be world class, though, make no mistake. Brilliant touch and a very quick brain on him. Tudur Jones never really delivered, Ledley's got a bright future ahead of him but he's not a match winner at this point in time. I don't know as much as I'd like about Joe Allen but he's probably even further behind Kingy in his development. He's deeper lying, though. He'll be in to replace Collison I think.

ACF Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 World Class? That makes him as good or better than Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard. Do you really think that's possible for a Welshman?
Finnegan Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 World Class? That makes him as good or better than Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard. Do you really think that's possible for Ramsey? Alright maybe a bit of an exaggeration but he'll be a quality Premiership midfielder as things go. He's very classy, very clever to watch and I tell you - the longer he stays under Fabregas' wing the better he'll be doing that's for sure.
Red Leicester Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Ramsey's the stand out talent there A class apart
act smiley Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Even I've stopped wanting to go to the Millenium Stadium and I sat there through a 5 - 1 drubbing in front of 12000 people against Slovakia. You bastard, I'm getting flashbacks now.
Finnegan Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 You bastard, I'm getting flashbacks now. As for today, it just gave the team news on the radio but it only told us who the injury replacements were. Dave Edwards, Joe Ledley and Aaron Ramsey are definitely starting in the midfield in what sounds like a four-four-two. Guessing this means Andy's not playing unless - at a long shot - Ramsey's playing wide right and King will play in the middle. The team I can confirm (for those who care) at the moment is Hennesy in goal, Gunter and Eardley at full back, the above in midfield with Earnshaw and debutant Simon Church (scored against England U21) up front.

Which BBC Channel do you pick up the Interactive option as this is on BBC 2 Wales or the Interactive? Cancel that I've just found BBC2 Wales on Sky Channel 991.
Finnegan Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 Yeah I was about to say, if you have digital or I think even freeview you'll have BBC2Wales. Though I think it will be available on the red button too. It'll be a shit game, by the way.

Guest Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 BBC Wales is also available on Freesat, as well as on Freeview, Sky and Sir Fynwy says that the game is also available by pressing the red button on your normal BBC channel. Not that he's looked into it.....
Finnegan Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 I don't really want to go and watch it downstairs so I'm hoping it's going to be on the BBC Website, too, but I'm not sure.

Finnegan Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 Confirmed. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/8087045.stm It's on there.

Finnegan Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 @ the anthem. What are this band playing at? And the fans aren't split up, that's odd. Wales flags and dafs being waved next to Azerbaijani flags. 5 3 2, it's Nyatanga, Ash Williams and Morgan the missing three at CB. I missed the subs.
chesterfield_fox_91 Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 kingy is on bench hopefully he comes on cus i got bbc wales on me tv :crylaugh:
