derbydan Posted 9 July 2009 Posted 9 July 2009 ellington is a good player imo he just didn't get a chance with us and found himself low down in the pecking order behing hulse commons Psssh ect i was quite sad to see him go especially as we paid £1.5m just to take him on loan his wages are quite aswell though and he proved he could score and played well in the cup games including a hat trick and the peno against stoke would be a good signing for you

Dont start me on this...ok then Howard got 17 I think in their promo season, Hulse got 19 last year Derby finished nowere. He was good for them that year but thats it. Nothing amazing, their whole team was good that season. If he was/is that good why flog him to us? £1.5m for someone in is 30's is good business for Derby. Ask your Derby mates what Howard did in the prem. Ask them also who would they have next season Rob Hulse or Steve Howard then get back to me. Howard and Oakley were great for us last season, granted. But it was League 1. But how good were they when we got relegated? They were desperate signings by a desperate manger. Howards a decent player had a good season for us last year...so were Gee, Davison et al but had there best days for Derby and all come at the end of their footballing lives. Why dont they give us Miles Addison, Giles Barnes Chris commons etc instead of the likes of Edworthy, Howard and Oakley? We couldnt afford them thats why. My point was we just get given the players they dont want anymore and that annoyes me.
