Seems to have lost his way a bit in recent years, with Derby seemingly turning him down on a free after a season long loan there. But at 27 he's got age on his side still, and if NP can turn Fryatt and Howard into lethal strikers (albeit in a lower league) it could be a smart move.

Failed at Derby 5 strikers were ahead of him after Jewell left and clough took over. Watford cant wait to have him off their wage list, by the report above. Lets get the guys who are still hungry, this guy isn't anymore. I for one dont want anymore Derby rejetcs at my club. Ok Howard and Oakley have improved on their first season but enoughs enough. I dont want some sort derby county appreciation soceity here thank you very much. According to skysports Leeds are willing to do business at about 2.5 million plus for beckford. If city are willing to pay 1.5m for cox and thats a no, lets pay a million more to get beckford,cov want him to by all accounts.

Doesn't seem to have the desire and from the opinions of fans who have seen him play regularly over the past few seasons, he is very very lazy. Might have spells of form but I don't want players with that kind of attitude at City.

Don't believe he's what we need to lead our frontline though. If he's one of two strikers and available on free, could be a good squad player.
