What football "stars" have you met in person?

I've had the pleasure of shaking hands with Muzzy Izzet. :scarf:

I've collided with my shopping cart with Aston Villa's John Carew while he was still playing for Rosenborg and lived in my neighbourhood. :crylaugh:

I've "served time" as soldier with Norwegian International midfielder Fredrik Winsnes, same troop. He was too good for the rest of us to play alongside in the evenings...

I briefly said hello to Sir Les Ferdinand. =) :scarf:

Seen Mark De Vries in tesco a while back. I was going to shout at him in dutch but he looked scared enough from the stares I was giving him trying to work out if it was him or not.

Generally see the players out and about in town sometimes but I never stop to speak to them because it must be quite annoying and there only human.

Sat with Muzzy on the open top bus ride when we got promoted in 96. Also met O'Neil and most of the players, I say met, I stood there whilst my Dad talked to them as I was only 6 :)

I've had a cheeseburger and chips with Steve Walsh. ^_^

That one tops all of mine, or the colliding with John Carew is close tho... :P

I am jealous of you Finnegan =)

I've met loads of City players over the years. Non-City players (or non City when I met them) that I have come into contact with are:

Les Ferdinand and Ledley King at La Manga - >_<

Alan Shearer and his passenger Rob Lee at Washington services (Tyne & Wear, not DC) - :@

One player I keep missing is Ally McCoist; he opened Makro following a refurbishment when I lived a 5-10 minute walk from the store. Had I know he was opening it, I would have taken the afternoon off of work to invite him round for tea and biscuits. I also missed chatting to him at Sunderland, when they were promoted. He was there for the TV coverage on The Championship, but we were in the pub. :(

Stan Collymore clocked me outside the training ground once, stopped his car and asked me for my number. I declined to give it to him ( or the number lol)

Which one? :D

The proper one!

:D I used to have a friend (who later I think got arrested after a tragic road accident) whose dad had a box. He was in with lots of the players as an accountant or something I think and it was Chesterfield in the cup. His dad gave us both a quid to put a bet on and I won £8 on Heskey to score first, 3 - 1!

Walshie came in and had pre-match dinner with us in the box. I was a bit awestruck.

Pah! Ive had breakfast with him :P:ermm:;)

You mean he gave you a bit of toast whilst easing you out the door half dressed?

It's not really meeting them per se, but Martin Keown answered my question in the programme :).

And so did another City player but I can't remember who. Can't have been that great a player lol.

Just Muzzy. Good enough for me.

Was my ?8?th birthday, wearing my brand new full LCFC kit and was in Fatty Arbuckles. He was there with his pha-hit bird and my Mother asked him to come over and give me an autograph etc, Muzzy being the absolute God that he is did and I shook his motherfrigging hand too. I loved him from that moment onwards and got his name on the back of my shirt.

2 weeks ago I was down city with a couple of mates for a 'party'.

Anyway, we were rather early, went upstairs. As we looked outside, MM was getting into his car, so as he pulled out we sprinted down the stairs and started shouting at him, telling him to wait.

He got out and we had a photo with him

Top bloke, he seemed very talkative.

That is my claim to fame football wise :D

My aunty taught Muzzy to drive. Doubt he ever drove a Ford Fiesta again after he passed. lol

Used to play kwik cricket with Richard Stearman when I was about nine.

Always used to see Micky Adams jogging round Harborough when he lived here.

My housemate's brother plays in Conference South for Braintree Town.
