C-man Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 The first Google Maps alphabet, featuring all 26 letters, has been created from satellite images of natural features and buildings by Rhett Dashwood, a graphic designer from Australia. The 32 year old concentrated his task in the Australian state of Victoria and took just six months to find every letter "I found them exactly as you think I might have," he said. "Slowly moving from page to page over the maps and visually scanning" Rest of the Pictures I really can't make my mind up if this is incredibly sad or a brilliant work of art. I mean look at how big the area he had to scan is: Has anyone else ever come across something like this on Google Maps?
C-man Posted 4 July 2009 Author Posted 4 July 2009 Yeah but look how much he had to cover. I've been to that part of Australia and I can tell you it's a huge area. Probably the size of England. I'm just disappointed he found nothing in the Ouven. (see place names on map to get that)
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 Quite a few seem to be around where i live......i may go for a drive to see them
Fox92 Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 Cool How long to they take to upload because they came past my house (and around town and that etc) like two months ago now and I walked out of the post office and there was a google maps car there staring me in the face as there was a traffic jam. So want to go to ground level now but I am not sure how long it takes for Google to develop it.
