haraven Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 I would like someone to tell me what's up with the following, any of them more promising than others (of the younger ones) Harry Worley (according to official web we beat off stiff competition to get him) Ashley Chambers Luke O'Neill Craig King Aman Verma Astmit Ajdarevic Any info or gossip would be much appreciated. Also, to make this a bit more interesting, who do you think will make it first in the first team regularly? Is the ex Liverpool Ajdarevic the best of them?

Also, to make this a bit more interesting, who do you think will make it first in the first team regularly? Is the ex Liverpool Ajdarevic the best of them? Ive only seen Worley once at the Stoke game a couple of seasons ago, he seemed a good prospect but has fallen down the order with signings of Hobbs and Brown. Think he is/or going on loan somewhere. I dont rate Chambers at all, however many on this forum do. May of done well at youth level etc, but is not good enough at pro level. I would get rid. O'Neil is a great prospect. Strong in the tackle and good positional sense I think he could push for a first team place if we get injuries. I've only seen King play once and he has a way to to go before he can be considered anywhere near the first team. Im big fan of Verma. He plays defensive midfield. Good range of passing, good positional play and is not affraid to put his foot in when required. Not quite ready for the first team I would like him to go out on loan to get experience. Astrit for me has been dissapointing so far, having played for Liverpool and a Sweedish international at youth level. Seems to drift in and out of games. He is a good passer but lacks concentration. Needs to work on his shooting.
Fox92 Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 Harry Worley Seen him on his debut, Sheffield United away, when we lost 3-0. Seen him a couple of times after that. Doesn't seem to be good enough although he is a young defender so he has a year or two to progress and has to have been at Chelsea for a reason. Ashley Chambers Although I like him, doesn't seem to be progressing and should surely be within the first team/bench now. Got pace and that's all I have seen from him and if he was a real great prospect wouldn't he be beating Dickov to the bench or something? More excited about the prospect of Billy Kee. Luke O'Neill Only seen him a couple of times but he looks like a comfortable full back who will perhaps become a solid championship/league 1 right full back. Craig King and Aman Verman Don't think I have seen them play. Astmit Ajdarevic Dissapointed me abit. Looks skillful and has a good first touch but not sure if he will be good enough for the championship and has only got a one year deal so does Nigel feel the same way?
FleckneyFox Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 Chambers desperately need to go out on loan to League 1/2. He had no football at all last season and probably should have been out on loan then.
FoxesFan123 Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 Its very possible Chambers may be given some playing time at the club this season, he's been included with the first team squad quite abit this preseason, and with the shortage of strikers, may be given a chance. I don't think Harry Worley is still with the club, he didn't feature last season, hasn't been given a squad number, has been in any pre-season games, or appeared in the training pics.

Agrre with this, he really needs a season long loan at a League 2 club to see if he can make it, i like the lad though and when fit he looks a good player. I think Luke Oneil will be our back up right back this season and might even start against Swansea due to suspension.

Even though they are only pre season games against Mansfield and Shrewsbury but i thought O'Niel looked pretty solid there. As for Worley i forgott he was here . I thought he went Hartlepool or something.

philayres200 Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 I have always thought that Ashley Chambers was a possible star in the making. 19 years old - not been sent out on loan - new 4 year contract about a year old, I think - England u19 squad at times - new highly regarded prospect brought in from Sunderland of the same age - Billy Kee, 18 years old sent out to score goals for lower league side on loan - What is going on with Ashley? I am confused.com
C-man Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Pearson doesn't rate him. There must be some truth in this, because after the Palace replay last season where he changed the game somewhat, he was still behind Dickov in the pecking order.
Candidcamera Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Didn't he miss pre-season last year and spent a long time injured ? He will have a head start this time, hopefully.

I agree - thought he was impressive v Palace and well worth a spot on the bench - certainly more likely to change a game than Dickov now. Yet there's no sign of him ever getting a chance to show what he can do at all...pace up front is the one thing we lack and he has bags of it...v frustrating Kee a bit the same. While I can see the sense in getting him match experience on loan, this guy seems to score goals every time he puts his boots on...surely worth a spot on the bench for turning a tight game rather than scoring hatfuls at a lower level for someone else..

But it was Pearson who gave him a 4year contract less than a year ago didn't he? Yes He was superb in his twenty minutes at Palace last year. Did more in that spell than the other forwards together in the whole game!

moseeds Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Maybe pearson does rate Chambers enough to not have to splash out on several new strikers???
carterfox90 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 has he figured in any pre season games if so how did he do ??????
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 he's been given a squad number so he must be in consideration. anyway, IT WILL SOON BE SATURDAY< AND IT'S FOOTY!!!!!!!
Fox92 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 He's had a squad number for several seasons I think now but he isn't progressing and I don't rate him.
Flynny Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 It's always possible no-one wants him on loan. If we go out and try to find him one it does him no good to be sat on the subs bench two divisions down.
