Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 I was reading a story about John Jensen scroing for arsenal in like 94 games and they made a t-shirt about him only scoring one goal. Saying I saw John Jensen score. Got me thinking did our club ever did anything like that. I can remember years ago hearing a story when we played Man City away in our first season in the premiership. That the club gave everyone a t-shirt who attended. We won 1-0 Robins got it. I think on his debut. I know it p*ssing down really bad or something. Anyone own the t-shirt ? Just wonder what he had written on it.

I got one; it was very very wet, and they had half-built the new Kippax Stand where we were. There was no roof on it and everyone got soaked. One bus load arrived half way through the game. We mentioned on the way up that the basketball team were playing in Machester and that if our game was called off we could go and watch that. The roof for the basketball place sprung a leak and the match didn't happen as it got flooded!

Atleast you got to see our first ever Premiership away win Was a bad season, apart from beating arsenal at home and coming back at Villa.

Was a fantastic curling goal by David Lowe in that game (the 3rd in a 3-1 win?! I may be wrong). Ossie Ardiles was manager of Spurs and playing his infamous 1-1-8 formation
