Leicester & Championship Predictions for next season.

I think there's more realism surrounding the predictions than idiocy and pessimism, the lack of a striker we know will be capable of scoring 20 odd goals a season at this level is a real concern. Though I can see where you're coming from in the second part of your post, the gulf between the CCC and League 1 isn't that big nowadays and teams that go through League 1 often do well in the Championship (see Swansea and Bristol City for details.) What we have to avoid is becoming a Scunny or a Forest and struggle all season.

If there was a player we knew would get 20 goals a season we wouldn't be able to afford him.

As i am sometimes reminded by a certain poster on here, i made a gem of a prediction a couple of seasons ago....

the season we got relegated i declared in a thread that one thing i am absolutely sure of and that is we wouldnt be involved in a relegation battle

:(

last year i decided not to make a prediction.

:)

Im torn this year as im filled with optermism... worryingly i was the season we got relegated ....

i'll refrain again this year...

Further predictions not related to the league.

  1. We will have an away trip in one of the cups that will be talked about for years.
  2. We will knock out a decent Premiership side in one of the cups.
  3. We will get knocked out by a lesser team than one we knocked out in an earlier round.

1. We will lose at Bramall Lane, and have at least one player sent off there.

1. I go to 12 away games this season, the key misses being Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Reading.

2. Top scorer in the league to be Ched Evans.

3. Leicester will concede under 40 goals, and score under 50.

4. Lloyd Dyer will suffer a horrific injury.

5. Aman Verma will score a wonder goal after coming off the bench, as a late consolation

6. The scoreboard will not be fixed all season.

7. We will take 500 to QPR.

8. We will finish above Coventry and Derby, but Forest will make the playoffs.

9. A welsh team will lose in the play-off final.

10. Both London sides will stay in the division.

11. Newcastle will lose away to all 3 promoted sides.

12. Blackpool will scrap the plans to build a 4th stand and build a statue of Ian Holloway, because he kept them up.

13. S****horpe will beat Preston.

14. Ipswich Town will score 6 on 3 occasions this season.

15. Peterborough 4-6 Sheffield Utd will be the highest scoring game of the season.

This shall be saved somewhere to see how many of those 15 I will get right :D

Quite funny reading some of these pre-season predictions!

There seemed to be a fair bit of negativity and pessimism. Fast forward 7 months and we are sitting in the play off area and there's STILL a fair bit of negativity and pessimism! It's easy to forget just how far we have come.
