You would just tell me to take her to Scarborough - Couple of seasons ago I took her to Eastlands for her birthday. 2-0 down at half time and they won 3-2. Some women prefer a great day out like that rather than the usual run-of-the-mill birthday/romantic stuff.

But seriously just to reiterate what I said earlier Istanbul is a quality city. Romantic, cultural, good weather, loads to see and a bit different to your usual European destination. Cheap as well.

Istanbul is a good shout. Neither of us have ever been to Turkey, and it's a pretty cultural city as well with beautiful weather. Failing all that, I'll just pass her to Dr Singh and it's a guarantee that she will be pleased.

I already do the usual showering her with gifts, praise, and cheesy text-book adoration on a fairly regular basis, but on very special occasions [like our upcoming anniversary] I need to pull something extraordinary out of my bag.
