I believe that Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian are all basically the same language (if first year undergraduate sociolinguistics serves me correctly) but that the governments of Serbia and Croatia have been attempting since the breakup of Yugoslavia to contrive and manufacture differences between the dialects so as they become two separate languages. Wouldn't know about Albanian or any others, we basically only covered Serbian and Croatian (or Serbo-Croat as it's more commonly known) in our seminars.

Hope that's thoroughly bored the fuck out of you.
