purpleronnie Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 "There here, there there, there every fooking where, empty seats"Not a sell out today is it? Probably be one of the highest attendances this weekend though.
C-man Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 Probably be one of the highest attendances this weekend though. What was it? 20k?
Guest Bilo Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 what a fooking game that was4 late changes, Ospreys on the rampage and the boys come out with that second half. And if twelvetrees had passed in the last 10 seconds it would have been an unbelieveable win. Another day proud to be from Leicester Best game of rugby ive watched in years Agree with both of these. What an outstanding game of rugby that was! Ospreys were better in every department in the first half after a disastrous start and looked nailed on to win at half time. Second half was a completely different story with Castro and Twelvetrees making a real impact and Tigers can probably call themselves unlucky not to snatch it in the last five, poor kicking and some dodgy officiating being the chief culprits. Atmosphere was rather muted in the first half with Tigers being mauled (excuse the pun) but it really did ramp up a few notches in the second half on the terrace. A real loud atmosphere at Welford Road as Tigers began to take the game by the scruff of the neck with the equalising try happening pretty much right in front of myself and the lady. (saw a different side to her today, bit scared about her being a hoolie at the Palace game ) Only downside was a knobhead Ospreys fan in the A&L stand shouting at every Tigers kick in the first half, though the mass staring out and the PA announcement soon put a stop to that in the second half . All in all, a bloody good way to spend a Sunday afternoon and £12. Will be returning for the Northampton game on the 31st as well.
purpleronnie Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 What was it? 20k? Yep around the same attendance as the last city game at the walkers, shhhh dont tell anyone though.
BlueSi13 Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 Yep around the same attendance as the last city game at the walkers, shhhh dont tell anyone though. Put tigers next game in the second tier of English rugby and put us in a Champions League game then we'll see
Lillehamring Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 Put tigers next game in the second tier of English rugby and put us in a Champions League game then we'll see so, your point is that LCFC has a large number of part timers who would only come out if we play in the champions league. cool. and even the other part is particlarly weak, as the 2nd tier of rugby is not comparable to that of english football with the gap being much less with footy, in fact the CCC is not even comparable with the 2nd tier of other national football leagues.
Joe. Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 I seriously don't understand the criticism of the Tigers... Always want them to do well personally, ridiculous not to if you're from here.
Alexikokopops Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 can't understand why everyone wanks over Welford road tbh. Headingley's bigger, sees bigger crowds and has a much better atmosphere. The 'cauldron' of Welford Road is laughable. Rugby Union ≠ Rugby League
