Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 September 2009 Posted 24 September 2009 Or so the poster's said outside today as I drove by. The door was open and there was a cool looking dude leaning nonchantly against the door frame. Anyone know anything?
Fosse Boy Posted 24 September 2009 Posted 24 September 2009 I saw a facebook group advertising this but thought it was either an optimstic campaign group or a hoax. Great news if true though.
Libertine Posted 24 September 2009 Posted 24 September 2009 Yes it's reopening but nothing to do with Andy the original guy as he's working on Lock 42 with us (Stayfree). They're having rehearsal rooms too.

Was meant to be opening at the end of this year but it looks like it'll be early next year now.
Rocket-Ron Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 I had heard that it was to show local bands on a friday only. could be wrong though.
davieG Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 It's been put together by 3 guys that are leasing it from the new owners and hope to put on local bands. They're relying on a lot of voluntary help and recently put out a call for people to go along and help clean the place up. Merc reports: Charlotte set to re-open - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html Jersey Budd to play on opening night - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html Call to help with clean up - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html There's also a group of guys hoping continue with the Phoenix - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html

Libertine Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Libs works at Stayfree? =OI was practicing there when you were still in primary school. Ha, I went in quite a lot back then still just to go on the computaz. It's on Frog Island now if you're not aware. I'm not technically employed. My Uncle owns it and I'm just helping out at the mo, hopefully get a proper j00b there eventually.
Sparky Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Don't bother. Only seen few bits of him , i like She came back. He not good live or you just not rate him ?
Rocket-Ron Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Don't bother. I Saw him about three years ago doing accoustic stuff, Really enjoyed it. Seen him earlier this year at Sumo with his band
Libertine Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Only seen few bits of him , i like She came back.He not good live or you just not rate him ? I saw him support Kasabian. Fair enough if you're into that. He's hardly 'bad', just seems pretty middle o' the road in my opinion. Nothing new like. That and he just seems a bit of a cockend whenever he's talking to the crowd.
