The Charlotte is Back!

Recommended Posts

Yes it's reopening but nothing to do with Andy the original guy as he's working on Lock 42 with us (Stayfree).

They're having rehearsal rooms too.

hadn't seen anything about lock42, but heard rumours on here, looks really promising...

can't imagine the council have supported it either, well done to all...

and if the charlotte is coming back, i just hope they put the wall back and make it a pub/venue again

Ha, yeh it'll be good when it finally gets done. Was meant to be opening at the end of this year but it looks like it'll be early next year now.

It's been put together by 3 guys that are leasing it from the new owners and hope to put on local bands.

They're relying on a lot of voluntary help and recently put out a call for people to go along and help clean the place up.

Merc reports:

Charlotte set to re-open - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html

Jersey Budd to play on opening night - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html

Call to help with clean up - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html

There's also a group of guys hoping continue with the Phoenix - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news...il/article.html

Libs works at Stayfree? =O

I was practicing there when you were still in primary school. ^_^

Ha, I went in quite a lot back then still just to go on the computaz. It's on Frog Island now if you're not aware.

I'm not technically employed. :P My Uncle owns it and I'm just helping out at the mo, hopefully get a proper j00b there eventually.

Only seen few bits of him , i like She came back.

He not good live or you just not rate him ?

I saw him support Kasabian.

Fair enough if you're into that. He's hardly 'bad', just seems pretty middle o' the road in my opinion. Nothing new like.

That and he just seems a bit of a cockend whenever he's talking to the crowd. :D

I popped me 'ead round the door (still open) on way to O'Neill's after PNE yesterday. Being refurbed but looks like the same layout. Am really pleased as have seen some great gigs in there down the years. Well done to all involved.
