Libertine Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 Also biggest song of the year? I don't remember Oasis releasing this or ever hearing it on the radio. I do. 2002.
StanSP Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 I do. 2002. Okay fair enough. But having Wiki'd 2002 in music and looked at top hits (yeah I'm bored as fook right now), There are loads of other songs, which IMO, are bigger than SCYHO. Notable songs: All My Life - Foo Fighters All the Things She Said - t.A.T.u. 03 Bonnie and Clyde - Jay-Z featuring Beyoncé Knowles By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers Chop Suey! - System of a Down Cleanin' Out My Closet - Eminem Clocks - Coldplay Dilemma - Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland Dirrty - Christina Aguilera featuring Redman Hero - Enrique Iglesias In the End - Linkin Park Lose Yourself - Eminem Where's Your Head At? - Basement Jaxx Wherever You Will Go - The Calling

Notable songs: All My Life - Foo Fighters ( American band ) All the Things She Said - t.A.T.u. ( Yeah a all time classic ) 03 Bonnie and Clyde - Jay-Z featuring Beyoncé Knowles ( stole from 2pac ) By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers ( American band ) Chop Suey! - System of a Down ( Get real, nobody apart from rap metal fans remember this ) Cleanin' Out My Closet - Eminem (Yeah this is played still to this day Clocks - Coldplay ( Yeah right ) Dilemma - Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland ( American rapper Dirrty - Christina Aguilera featuring Redman ( Get real ) Hero - Enrique Iglesias ( Give you that one even though he's not british ) In the End - Linkin Park ( hahahahahaha ) Lose Yourself - Eminem ( American rapper but i give you that one ) Where's Your Head At? - Basement Jaxx ( Got boring very quickly ) Wherever You Will Go - The Calling ( again get real ) So taking that into account SCYHO was the biggest song of 2002 by a BRITISH BAND. Artic Monkeys will get to number 1 but the albums won't be remember for years to come. Its just a trend and trends die. FoxForever, your a typical Jay Z wannabe gansta blap kid. Your the sort of person who attends a Jay Z concert and the week after you go see The kooks live.

I like one song by The Kooks. Naive. And I'm nowhere near a gangsta blap kid . I like more rock music than urban/rap/hip-hop music. And Coldplay's songs were better than SCYHO. Clocks was anyway. You're the sort of person who looks in NME to see who is popular. You're the sort who likes MGMT or some other crappy american techno band. I thought you said you liked Muse? I like some of their songs yes.

You're the sort who likes MGMT or some other crappy american techno band. Try again. I've only bought like 2 copies of NME in my life. Anyway, I like to find out for myself new music, not whether it's popular or not. A band could be popular, don't mean they're any good.
AjcW Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 Jesus. You know what I like. Someone who can appreciate all different genres of music. And without sounding biased here because me and foxforever talk off foxestalk but he has one of the more varied music tastes I know. He would happily listen to Jay Z or Game one minute and then stick on a bit of Paramore or Arctics. Someone who just gets behind one genre, does not know music thats a simple fact. When I was younger I only used to listen to poppy rock music and I disregarded any sort of hip hop or RnB but now I like to give all sorts of music a go, Ive got muse, jay z, eminem and one republic on the ipod the most at the moment. Being able to appreciate all aspects of music is important I think, Without elements of rock Jay Z's songs would lack a good beat and without hints of RnB muses album would be very plain. P.S I love Leona's version of this song . And I also love the original. They are in my opinion two COMPLETELY different songs!!

So all the great Jazz composers, arrangers, band leaders etc from the early nineties didn't know anything about music
