lildave3 Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 We all know the only reason this song is amazing is because it advertised the new series of Dream Team after the bus crash.
AjcW Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 Basically you're a product of mass commercialism. Well done. What you call music to me is soulless drab which is marketed to pink shirt wearing tossers who call themselves music fans but download there favorite artists at any opportunity illegially. I'm sorry mate to shit on your bubble but you can't go on like you're shit doesn't stink because your ipod playlist is radio 1's top twenty most played and advertise to everyone you don't pay a single penny for the music you own. Stop chatting shit. So all the great Jazz composers, arrangers, band leaders etc from the early nineties didn't know anything about music Do we know there taste in music .... who's to say said jazz composer, arrangers and band leaders didnt love a bit of rock hip hop rap pop etc etc.... stupid thing to say mate. 1st Bold: How can you prove that. 2nd Bold: I look good in pink 3rd Bold: You just made yourself the pink shirt wearing tosser. 4th Bold: Again how do you know that... your wrong by the way. its 50/50... Edmund Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 Do we know there taste in music .... who's to say said jazz composer, arrangers and band leaders didnt love a bit of rock hip hop rap pop etc etc.... stupid thing to say mate. Firstly hip hop, rock wasn't even around then. I highly doubt the likes of Glen Miller and co had musical interests anywhere else. I'm sorry but that made my day. If I wanted to be pedantic lets say Beethoven then. He was a one genre man wasn't he. Does he know nothing about music? That is the point I'm making. It's an insult to pioneers of genres and people who have dedicated there lives to a genre they love. I think it's safe to say a jazz session musician who lets say only likes jazz who is multi talented and plays a variety of instruments knows a little bit more about music than you do just because you listen to The Game and Muse on the same ipod. So I don't think it's a such a stupid thing to say. 1st Bold: How can you prove that.2nd Bold: I look good in pink 3rd Bold: You just made yourself the pink shirt wearing tosser. 4th Bold: Again how do you know that... your wrong by the way. its 50/50... (1) I can't prove it but from the artists you list and I've seen you mention it seems to me you are more on the commercial spectrum. Nothing wrong with that and I'm not drawing a line that all popular music is shit as there have been some great tunes in the charts in years gone by but it's safe to say the majority of it is manufactured crap with no soul. (2) It wasn't a personel insult I've never met you, it was a general stereotype of people who listen to that music. (3) Don't know what you're getting at. (4) I'm just going on the threads and post where you have promoted sites of this nature. That is all. You can do as you like but if you're such a fan of artists why not support them especially if the music means something to you.

Of course hip hop and rock was around there, look back at your post again, it may have been a typo on your part, maybe you meant 19th century. Edmund Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 It was a typo my bad and I meant early 20th century. It still doesn't make any difference or mean that you're right in saying that people who only back one genre of music don't now anything about music. It proves my point nicely. BoneDog Posted 10 November 2009 Share Posted 10 November 2009 You gotta love some of the comments on youtube. People are gettin vexed "This is a fooking disgrace to Britain. Oasis have been dead for, what, 3 months? And she's already pissing all over their grave. I'm sure Noel's thrilled with the royalties but anyone who buys this caterwauling monstrosity should commit suicide at the soonest convenience." What you call music to me is soulless drab which is marketed to pink shirt wearing tossers who call themselves music fans but download there favorite artists at any opportunity illegially. I've got a pink shirt. It's nice. But I'm not really a chart whore. We all know the only reason this song is amazing is because it advertised the new series of Dream Team after the bus crash. Pleased I'm not the only one that thought this.

Hugo Sanchez Posted 14 December 2009 Author Share Posted 14 December 2009 Ok she sang that live tonight and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo shite it was unreal. Liam passion in his voice when he sings it, makes the song. Leona just don't have that passion. Fooking hate her, i bet some Oasis punch her in waterstones now, for killing the greatest song of this decade.

Surely her covering the song will first of all generate royalties for your beloved band; second, it will generate some interest towards the original song, as each cover does, which in turn will generate extra revenue for the band; third, if the original is so superior to the cover version, it's the former that will be remembered and not the latter. As far as I can see, from your point of view, it's a win-win-win situation...

Hugo Sanchez Posted 16 December 2009 Author Share Posted 16 December 2009 Oasis have only been split up for 3 months and already someone has cover their song and made it a single. How many other crappy pop acts over the year next are gonna start this gimmick ? I don't wear hear Girls Aloud cover Wonderwall or Joe singing Live Forever. Fook off and wait till Noel is dead. Benji Posted 17 December 2009 Share Posted 17 December 2009 Personally hate it, she's almost managed to make it sound the same as Run bar the lyrics, even has the random singing part again over the instrumental which basically sounds like a long yawn. Hearing Run live by Snow Patrol is up there with one of the best gig experiences I've had, favourite song of all time that.
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 December 2009 Share Posted 18 December 2009 She'd of been better of not winning the X Factor in my opinion, if she'd of got a record deal through the normal route taken she'd actually have people writing orginal songs that suit her and people might actually remember her as someone other than that girl who won the X Factor and no just wails over the top of songs by other artists. And she did ruin Run, quality song.
