F.A Cup Third Round Draw

Let me explain: Jamie and some others on here met club officials to set up a singing section in the North Stand next to the awayers. The 1st game went well but the thinking is that the club regretted the decision so when the next game came along the stewards and set out to cause trouble and proceeded to disrupt the whole set up. They seemed hell bent on making it fail and targeted Jamie, as the 'leader' by actively going for him amongst a whole swathe of people standing up and ejected him from the ground and later banning him.

Subsequently the whole North Stand singing project failed and the club got their way by appearing to work with the fans only to renege on it so that they can maintain their music controlled monkey like support.

No one complained, just like with most ejections for standing.

Thats fecking ridiculous! Sorry to hear that Jamie. Sometimes this club disgusts me it really does

The only ones bitching are the so called 'real fans' who don't think your opinions count unless you've been to Hartlepool away on a cold Tuesday night.

Never read such bollocks.

He was reacting to some of the elitist fans on here who like to look down their noses at the rest of us.

I wasn't refering to you Lou nor Lisa or anyone else who goes to away games for a good day out or to support the team. Just the type who think they're better than the rest of us who don't go away that often.

I'm just not a big fan of the 'away day warrior' who goes to aways to have a few stories to tell to their mates and then doesn't get behind the team at home because its not the same as an away game and then looks down on us fans that make home matches more often for whatever reason.

Oh wait, I have.

No one looks down on anyone for going to less games, although I do feel that opinions of people who actually attend the matches are more noteworthy than reading the match threads on here. That's not the same thing.

As for 'away day warriors', you don't have to be a genius to realise that most of us that go away make it to most of the home games. Just because they prefer away days to home games doesn't make them a 'warrior'.

The draw might have been worse. We could've had Swansea away.

Only the true hardcore will want to make THREE trips to South Wales in as many weeks, so let's hope the tie is settled at the first attempt.

Sounds like a challenge.

Well said! Certainly sums up the way I feel, of course someone who was actually there can give a better report on the game than someone who wasnt.

Ive had my years of not being able to go to many away games when the kids were small and I was a single parent for a while so I know how circumstances can stop people from going. I only manage to go now because I dont do anything else much, I dont go out drinking (apart from match days) nor do I smoke and rarely treat myself to anything.. my football is my hobby. Im not going to feel guilty about it, I work bloody hard to earn my wages so I'll waste them following City if I want to, it doesnt make me a warrior either.

Good chat Lou.

As for the draw, I wasn't particularly impressed but I'll still be there. If we draw then I'll probably go to the Cup replay there rather than the league game. Timings would suit me better.

Being at home gives us a fair chance of progression, and although the League should be the priority (and obviously is in reality), I'd love a Cup run.

That was NEVER my original point though, and I've already stated I love going to aways and think we have some of the best away support in English football.

However, I'll never understand the mentality of supporting another club on the day your team is playing (even more so because I adore the FA Cup). I just don't get it...

I didn't quote your original point.

I went to see AFC Telford at York City when Leicester were at home to Colchester last season because I was spending the weekend in York with a mate who supports AFC Telford.

I went to see Sheffield Wednesday at home to Preston this season when we played Palace because despite being a STH, I couldn't afford to miss lectures to get back to Leicester in time for the game.

I don't see what's different between those examples and what Tommeh is doing. He has family ties with Lincoln and lives not too far from Bolton. Other than that, football for some people doesn't end at Raw Dykes Road.

There's another guy on here who said he might be off to Stoke with York, cos he lives there. That would be epic in my opinion, not so in yours. That's what football is all about.

 sums it up pretty nicely, to be honest. Should have known it was going to happen really, but thought it was worth a shot nonetheless.. Ahh well, learn from your mistakes, eh?? ;)

:) T'was definitely a massive factor in me deciding against obtaining a season ticket, something I'll be refraining from doing for the foreseeable future as well. Fact is, my "type" of fan is neither valued by nor wanted in Modern Football in general in this country. But that's a different debate for a different day :P

If we draw with Swansea, I'll probably go to the replay.. Depending on who else I can rope in, obviously :sweating:

Try this then.

Are you familiar with the concept of irony?

Maybe I was picking on the wrong target with you, I'm not sure, but there are plenty of examples on here saying home fans are all ****** or it's far better to have 500 fans when we play away than 3,000 because the extra fans are the wrong type of fan.

I read the comments of the so called hard core fans on here on the occasions when they lower themselves to mix with us lesser fans at the Walkers and their comments are just as likely to boll0x as any part timer.

There are people on here who seriously need to get their heads from up their own arses.

In all honesty, it wasn't that cold at Hartlepool the second time around last season - quite balmy.

Shame about the music selection there and back though.

Well said Webbo.

Last season you only have to look back at the Peterborough away match when tickets were scarce for non season ticket holders and some posters said they deserved a ticket over st holders just because they had attended Brighton away yet they only reached a few games that season in comparison to a season ticket holder. No logic whatsoever.

Anyway back to the cup tie, not the most glamorous but hey we've got a good chance of progressing to the next round where we will have more chance of drawing one of the big boys. Wont be easy by any means as they have been doing well of late. Even if we get knocked out wont be to fussed as the championship is our priority considering the position we find ourselves in.

A good cup run is a bonus that is all.

Maybe you are 'cos I went Cov away and enjoyed it which makes me a disabled.
