Let's be honest its not, seeing as the four semi-finalist's were Barca, United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Apart from Barca there are only 2 players representing them three clubs in the top 10. Moron.

Not because they want to be cool or different, I havent liked Barca for a long time and you out of everyone knows that. I couldnt care if Messi won this award, shame Ronaldo won it before him but whatever. I said Messi deserved to win the award this year but for clowns to come out and say Yaya Toure deserved to be ahead of Steven Gerrard is probably the funniest comment to come out of a knowledgable Spanish/English football follower.

I was really just agreeing with Tommeh that I couldn't believe how far down the list Toure was. No need to get a stonk on. The way Toure's going this season, he might get bombed out to a Europa League side like Liverpool anyway.

Different players in their own right but both posses that flair and natural football ability only true greats are born with. As most European leagues finish in the summer wouldn't it make more sense to hold this award then? We all know the winner is based on last seasons triumphs which means the start of this season is surplus until next seasons award. I fail to see the logic behind this.
