Weale- 7 (Saved everything, couple of poor kicks and throws but solid on the whole)

Morrison- 7 (Good game)

Hobbs- 7 (One mistake but again was sound)

Brown- 8 (Much maligned lately but he was a rock today. Great block from Cook, won headers and passed it better)

Berner- 6.5 (Not his best game, but didn't play badly)

Spearing- 7 (Like him, better than Oakley has been recently)

King- 7 (Another goal, another solid game)

Wellens- 7.5 (Kept the game flowing, good player)

Gallagher- 6.5 (Quite quiet, but still worked hard to create)

Howard- 7.5 (Held the ball up, won some headers, goal and assist for the big man)

Waghorn- 9 (Worked his socks off, great first goal, fantastic second, shame that his free-kick or volley didn't go in to complete a hat-trick)

Cant believe people on here saying Spearing no better than Oakley, ive spent all afternoon listening to a bunch of morons in SK2 moaning on about him to. I thought he chased and won the ball back well and gave wellens and king more time. I am gunna have to move to L1 or somewhere else before I kill someone or if its like that everywhere just stay away.

Tbf I think that's just me. I didn't say he was worse just no better and I still think that. It's all about opinions though.

Weale - 7 - Didn't have a lot to do but made a couple of decent saves in the 2nd half

Morrison - 7 - Solid game, nothing got past him.

Berner - 7 - Doesn't look match fit to me but is so much more dep[endable than McGivern

Hobbs - 8 - Won every header and had one of his most comfortable games

Brown - 8 - Made a great 1st half block and found a BLUE shirt with most of his passes too.

Wellens - 8 - Had his best game in ages, started most of the best moves.

King - 7 - Quiet second half but he's almost as dangerous in the box as the strikers right now.

Gallagher - 8 - Busy, always looking for the ball and put in a good shift.

Spearing - 7 - Passing was a bit hit & miss but was much more positive than Captain Cardboard Cutout.

Howard - 7 - The constant moaning to refs and falling on his arse is getting Heskey-esque but took his goal well.

Waghorn - 9 - "Sign him up!" The second goal was one of the best you'll see in a blue shirt and was a constant threat.

Overall, I didn't think we'd see a worse side than (first half) Coventry's showing but QPR were shocking, it was like passing around cones at times. That said, when they had chances we held them at bay and we didn't miss Neilson, Oakley & McGivern. It's saying something when your captain isn't missed and is easily replaced by a Liverpool reserve. The lads should build on this now and get a real push on. 3 wins from the next 4 is definitely do-able.

Great result, no better than average performance.

Rangers gave it up after Waghorn's second, 4-0 really flattered us. Will be a good confidence boost hopefully.

Weale 6.5 Decent enough without ever being really tested. Seems to be feeling the tension as he looks a bit less confident and secure than earlier in the season.

Morrison 6.5 Proved once again that our second best center back is also our most solid performer at right back. Failed to get forward first half despite the acres of space in front of him. Good second half and great assist for Howard's goal.

Hobbs 7 Nothing like as commanding when playing second fiddle to Brown, a couple of errors apart he was pretty solid.

Brown 7 The sort of game he must dream about. Rangers never tested him on the ground and he was imperious in the air. Under so little pressure even his distribution was OK.

Berner 6 One of his less effective games. Despite this he brings a solidity to our defense that no one else, not even Powell, can manage.

Spearing 7 Played the Oakley role with verve and energy, which on the day was more than enough. Doesn't appear to offer anything different though it is still early days.

King 6.5 Despite his excellent early goal, this was one of his quieter games. Did not get involved enough first half as we conceded much of midfield to Rangers. Content to let Wellens run the show after the break.

Wellens 7 His recent improvement continues but despite all the showy effort and 'hustle' he still does not create enough. Looked good second half but by then Rangers had pretty much thrown in the towel.

Gallagher 6.5 Started the first half in the middle but it was really congested and he was largely ineffective. Much better when he started to pull out wide, particularly to the left.

Waghorn 7.5 A better player when playing off a proper front man, better still when he started pulling out to the right and attacking from there. Took his first very coolly and made the second out of nothing. Both from outside the box, note!

Howard 7 Static and one dimensional he may be, but in Fryatt's absence he remains (damningly) the best option to lead the line. Good goal and fine assist.

Adams and Vaughan n/a Both brought on at 4-0 for a largely meaningless runout.

Pearson 5 Poor initial setup, way too narrow and early goal apart we were second best. Waghorn's goal on the stroke of half time was a real 'Get Out Of Jail Free' moment after which we were home free. Getting Gallagher and Waghorn to pull into wider positions was his only positive contribution.

For those who put 8's and 9's, what are you going to put when the team plays well for 90 minutes and not just patches. 4 - 0 yes but overall ?????????

Three 9s and a 10 in a game in which there was a stage when we barely touched the ball for half an hour? And a man of the match with a lower score than one of the other players? :dunno:

At least you recognised Gallagher's incompetence yesterday, don't know how anybody gave him more than 5.

Weale -7- Solid

Morrison -7- Back four all did well

Brown -8- One of his good performances

Hobbs -8- Another good performance

Berner -7- How we missed him!

King -6- Quiet game despite goal

Wellens -8- Always probing, won the ball back lots of times

Spearing -6- Disappointing -- Ran around a lot with little effect, slow. I am not an Oakley fan, but Oakley is better from what I have seen so far

Gallagher -6- Had little impact. Midfield (apart from Wellens) not rated highly because they were outplayed by QPR for almost entire first half.

Howard -7- Good in air, led line quite well

Waghorn -9- Calm finish into empty goal from 30 yards, great 2nd goal, great shot that hit bar, another fine effort saved

Vaughn -7- Good run near end, showed glimpses of premiership class

Adams -6- Little time to impress

Not sure we were quite as good as some of the ratings on here suggest, given we couldn't string two passes together in the first half

Weale 8 - Looked very solid

Morrison 7 - Beginning to think he's better at right back than as centre back

Brown 9 - Thought he was excellent today and gave us the organisation we'd been lacking at the back a few times

Hobbs 7 - Decent but one calamitous error should have led to a QPR goal

Berner 7 - Looked a bit tired but generally solid

Spearing 7 - Disagree that he wasn't an improvement on Oakley, he looks like he could be a really good player, was competitive, some good passing, but struggled when we couldn't keep the ball in the first half

King 8 - Pick of the midfield for me

Wellens 6 - For me his first half performance was a disgrace, he seemed to barely move more than about five yards, couldn't keep the ball, and generally looked idle. Second half a lot better

Gallagher 6 - Also looked lost a fair amount of the time, but did ok

Waghorn 8 - For being pretty much unplayable for the first 20 minutes of the second half. Good finish for his first as well after having to feed on scraps for the whole half

Howard 7 - Put in a good shift when he wasn't moaning to the ref (often justifiably) and looked a bit more like his old self

Subs didn't have much need to do much.

Big credit to Pearson for shuffling the team around, and the fact that we came out for the second half and looked strong.

Wellens 6 - For me his first half performance was a disgrace, he seemed to barely move more than about five yards, couldn't keep the ball, and generally looked idle. Second half a lot better Ehemmmm !!

Weale - 8 - Looked solid again

Morrison - 7 - Wasn't as comfortable at right back, but did well.

Hobbs - 7.5 - Another solid performance

Brown - 8 - No co-incidence that his return lead to a clean sheet. Added some vital experience in the core of the defence.

Berner - 7.5 - Solid again

King - 7 - Worked hard and kept it simple.

Wellens - 8.5 - Superb yet again, his vision and touch is far too good

Spearing - 7.5 - Added the extra legs and bite to the midfield.

Gallacher - 6 - Poor, looked tired.

Waghorn - 8 - Took his chances well, and was fired up after the second. Needed a big slice of luck to actually get into the game though.

Howard - 7 - Solid. Rewarded for his recent hard work with a goal.
