Matt Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Is this the worst World Cup so far? Very boring to me so far, having said that it doesn't really KO till the Knockout stages anyway, but lack of goals (But everyone seems to be blaming the balls and altitude) and vuvuzalas are leaving question marks over this World Cup for me personally so far.
foxoffderby Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 The first WC I watched and ive only got brief memories is Spain 82. Remember Rossi and the entire Brazil team with their exotic names and wonderful football. Mexico 86 was all about the greatest player I've ever seen in Maradonna, just a one off. Italia 90 is my favourite simply because England came so close and Gazza turned into a superstar over night. So far this WC has been quite boring, im hoping it will get better in the knockout tournement.

I won't judge this one until it's over, but I see what you're saying. It's not really captured the imagination much for me bar Switzerland's upset, Germany's performance and North Korea playing their hearts out so far.
FoxyPV Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 I just watched this video and the memories have come flooding back, '86 was my favourite. Tigana and Josimar I can still remember lying in front of the tele watching with a glass of Kiaora - a boogy boogy boogy boo. Adora Josimar's second goal They didn't include Maradona's better goal against England though
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 This World Cup has been a bit poor so far. Hopefully once the deciding group games / knock out rounds start it'll provide a bit more interest.
Mikey Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Looks like its picking up now though tbf, 3 good games in the 2nd round of matches. Hopefully it continues.

I'm hoping today is the day the 2010 World Cup started! Argentina have hopefully kicked it off, although I was hoping Germany with their 4-0 had done that and nothing followed.
