On sky sports news we have become 1 of a host of teams apparently after him.

"Jay Simpson could be set to leave Arsenal this summer and a host of clubs are set to battle it out for his signature.

The young forward is a product of the Gunners' highly-famed academy but is yet to make his Premier League debut.

The 21-year-old has played for Arsenal in the Carling Cup and scored two goals in a 3-0 victory in his only ever start over Wigan, but he has never made a league appearance for the club and now looks set to leave.

Simpson has spent much of the last three seasons on loan, with Millwall, West Brom and last term with Queens Park Rangers - where he hit double figures in the Championship.

However, despite being highly thought of at Arsenal they are prepared to let him leave as he seeks regular first-team football.

News of Simpson's availability is set to alert a host of clubs in the Premier League and Championship.

West Ham, Fulham and Blackpool are all thought to be considering whether to offer him a Premier League chance, whilst Millwall, Nottingham Forest, Cardiff, Leicester City and QPR are all keen. Nigel Pearson looks set to become the Hull City manager and will also probably have Simpson on his hit list.

His advisor Uben Gray confirmed Simpson could leave the Emirates Stadium.

"Jay has had discussions with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal," he told skysports.com.

"Everyone at the club only has good things to say about Jay, including Arsene, but they appreciate he needs to be playing first-team football.

"And so they are ready to let him leave, but only if the deal is right for all parties."

Simpson currently has a year left on his contract at Arsenal

I think that should read Pearson is one of a host of Managers after him.

Nah never ! too right we can't afford him, I wouldn't expect many signings this summer peeps, unless we sell up the big names like Hobbs and co, I am not looking forwards to the 2010/11 season unless a good manager takes over IF Pearson leaves which looks likely according to Stringer.

Scored 2 in Arsenal friendly today ....Up goes the price and down go our hopes of getting him!!!!!!

Told to find a club so the price won't of gone up and our chances certainly won't go down.

Hi all,

Went to the Barnet v Arsenal game today with my Arsenal supporting mate. After the game my mate was busy getting his shirt signed by some of the players including Jay Simpson.

He asked when you moving to Leicester and Jay winked back, smiled and said how did you know about that. He then said hopefully his future will be sorted soon.

Of course this does not mean that hes heading this way but sounds like there has been some communication from our end.........

Went to the Barnet v Arsenal game today with my Arsenal supporting mate. After the game my mate was busy getting his shirt signed by some of the players including Jay Simpson.

He asked when you moving to Leicester and Jay winked back, smiled and said how did you know about that. He then said hopefully his future will be sorted soon.

Of course this does not mean that hes heading this way but sounds like there has been some communication from our end.........

I'm not calling you a liar and I'm not questioning you. But is that really what he said?

I've been lurking on this forum for a long time narborough and I know not to make things up as you can get shot down in flames pretty quick and be made out to be a complete tw@t!!

I can honestly say that is what he said, as mentioned though it doesn't mean that he is coming here although it does swing me to believe that there may have been some communication from our end, altough I admit I can't see how with the fact we've got no money???

Yep that is what I am saying! But hey I though that I would add some news on the subject from the horses mouth so to speak!

Very harsh m8. The bloke is only relaying what he's heard, people are to quick to shoot people down in flames on this forum.

That is very true. I'm new to this forum, and have posted a few times only to get insulted for voicing my opinion or sharing my views - hence why I won't bother much in future!

Don't let people drive you away, we try to keep a control on serious abuse but this is the internet and people are inclined to go over the top, whether it's a release for them, a bit of attention seeking or something else who konws. But you learn to develop a hard skin which will stand you in good stead for the real world. As a last resort you can always put your abusers on ignore.

Indeed, I imagine from what he said that we will find out where his future lies in the near future.

He did look very sharp yesterday and took his chances well although admittedly it was against Barnet!
