MC Prussian Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 For about 60 minutes, I thought I was going to die of boredom. Now I find out it's actually developed into something fairly entertaining. Kudos to Spain for never giving up, but they'll simply be no match for this year's Germany in the semis.

On respective form of the four semi-finalists, I can see nothing beyond a resumption of the Holland-Germany rivalry in the final.
Finnegan Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 To be fair, there's been an enormous amount of black African fans decked out in Spanish colours cheering the Spanish side on, they obviously don't seem to be as put-off Spain by a tiny minority of twats in their fanbase as some of us white, middle-class nice-boys sat ten thousand miles away. Again, I'm not defending the monkey noises but I think slating an entire country's football team for it is a little bit far. If you don't want Spain to win, then fair enough, that's up to you but I wouldn't try and make it more political than it is, personally.

Guest Bilo Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 As if people are writing off Spain Don't get me wrong, on top form Spain are perfectly capable of bending Germany over and humiliating them, but they were nowhere near that tonight. With Germany playing the way they are, Spain are going to raise their game significantly because on current form, they won't beat the Germans. There again, the class teams do raise their game for the best opposition and win even when playing poorly, both of which Spain have done in this World Cup. Certainly not writing them off yet.

The number of serious, game changing mistakes has been unbelievable. When Howard Webb has looked the best referee in the tournament, you know things are looking bad. tbh i don't think he has, the best ref so far has been that uzbekistani one that took charge of Argies V Krauts earlier.

Sparky Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Think he has been one of the better refs to be honest, takes no bullshit from players feigning injury whilst that guy tonight has to be the worst. The Japanese ref has done well whenever ive seen him in fairness.

Hopefully the game against Germany will be a classic. I can't call it but Spain need to improve, they also look shite at the back with the ageing Puyol and the awful Pique.

Tilley Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 As for the game, it was terrible until the penalties. Glad Spain went through, hope to God they beat Germany, who without Thomas Mueller will be weakened. I expect a Spain vs Holland final, a Germany vs Holland final would be tasty though, as long as the Dutch win the whole thing I don't mind who they face really.
