Smudge Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Exactly! I didn't bother reading the article as it would probably only annoy me, but capitalism is reliant on the freedom of movement. Maybe if so many of us hadn't gone over there during the last 200 years, maybe they wouldn't be so eager to come over here. It makes me smile when "Americans" and "Australians" et al complain about immigrants. Americans don't have a problem with legal immigrants.
Houdini Logic Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 I loved how during their election campaign the tories said they would cap immigration. Do people not realise that while we're in the EU that is both impossible and illegal?
Jon the Hat Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 I loved how during their election campaign the tories said they would cap immigration. Do people not realise that while we're in the EU that is both impossible and illegal? You miss the point... it is not immigration from wealthy European countries which is the problem... Nor from Australia, the USA, Canada etc. Because people from such countries are deemed to be coming for cultural exchange not money.
Tilley Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 We need an immigration cap, desperately. We also need to ship out the migrants who just eat away at our stupidly generous tax system. I'm all for immigration, it's done our country no end of good but you should only be allowed here if you can offer this country something and I am afraid a large proportion offer fuck all.
FoxyPV Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 We need to encourage emigration desperately We also need to ship out the locals who just eat away at our stupidly generous tax system. You should only be allowed here if you can offer this country something and I am afraid a large proportion of the indigenous population offer fuck all.
Houdini Logic Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 You miss the point... it is not immigration from wealthy European countries which is the problem... Nor from Australia, the USA, Canada etc. Because people from such countries are deemed to be coming for cultural exchange not money. OK, so noone on here has a problem with an unlimited number of immigrants from all EU countries being allowed in to Britain. Good, glad you cleared that up - I almost missed the point
Houdini Logic Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 We also need to ship out the migrants who just eat away at our stupidly generous tax system. Is it not the case though that migrant workers can't claim benefits until they've been employed for at least a year?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 OK, so noone on here has a problem with an unlimited number of immigrants from all EU countries being allowed in to Britain. Good, glad you cleared that up - I almost missed the point Yes I bloody well do have a problem with unlimited immigrants. Those that do not contribute to the economy should be booted out. Parasites!
accessory Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 [/b]Americans don't have a problem with legal immigrants. I'm sure this statement is based on extensive research of the views of the Sioux, Navajo and other native groups...
Guest Bilo Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 ARE IMMIGRANT PAEDOPHILES TURNING PRINCESS DIANA'S HOUSE PRICES GAY?
Houdini Logic Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Yes I bloody well do have a problem with unlimited immigrants. Those that do not contribute to the economy should be booted out. Parasites! Thought as much, looks like I didn't miss the point after all JTH Back to what I was saying - while we're in the EU you can not cap the amount of immigrants from other EU countries - it's not possible and not legal
Smudge Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 I'm sure this statement is based on extensive research of the views of the Sioux, Navajo and other native groups... Who them? The Mongolian Rambling Society
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Thought as much, looks like I didn't miss the point after all JTH Back to what I was saying - while we're in the EU you can not cap the amount of immigrants from other EU countries - it's not possible and not legal Agreed, but there is NO agreement that they should be handed out benefits, because they have no intention of working,
