It seems that Sven is favourite to take over at the top, surely part of his negotiations would involve a target list of loan signings and full signings in January transfer window

Chequebook managers (although he did rather better at Man City than people give him credit for) tend to favour older players over bringing young talent through.

I'd like to have seen Heskey at the Walkers but his resurgence at Villa would probably mean they'll never let him go and he worked fantastically with Houllier at Liverpool before, so he'd want to keep hold of him anyway.
