davieG Posted 8 October 2010 Posted 8 October 2010 While the Leicester City first team will be facing the Thailand national side 6,000 miles away in Bangkok tomorrow, the academy side will take centre stage at Belvoir Drive. City's under-16s and under-18s will take on Cardiff City at noon and the under-18s will be looking to bounce back to winning ways. They were pegged back by two late goals last weekend against MK Dons, and Academy manager Jon Rudkin said the squad must learn the lessons from the 3-3 draw. Oliver Norburn put City ahead and Matt Robinson doubled their lead before half- time. The Dons pulled one back but Tom Hopper restored their two-goal advantage, only for the hosts to score twice in the last 10 minutes.
North-LondonFox Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Seems to be a bit of a trend for giving away leads late on after the 5-5 debacle down in Portsmouth. The lads do score some goals though!
detari74 Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 The Academy won 2 0 today after a very good team performance. Schlupp scored both of the goals, the first he slotted home after a good run and the 2nd was a wonder strike that had all watching clapping his over head/shoulder turn and volley. Tebbutt and Sesay were outstanding at the back and Schlupp was always a threat with his strength and speed. Raj Gill in goal had a very solid game and never looked like conceding today. The team was Gill: Tebbutt, Bolger, Sesay, Knight: Norburn, Robinson, Hicks, John: Schlupp, Hopper - sub Under 16 came on when Hopper had a head injury
