Sylvie85 Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Great all round performance, as alot of others have said Wellens was MOM for me. His through ball for Kingy's goal was exquisite. Also, big mention for Yuki Abe thought he did a fantastic job on Commons. Kept him quiet, did everything simple, excelled in a role that always seems to go unnoticed because its not flash.
Lillehamring Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 lovely watching kingy pointing like a mad man where he wanted the ball - and wellen's putting it on a tanner and gally's twisting move before the peno was quality - so many great moments and a win too...
Ric Flair Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 A near complete performance from a team that looked relgation fodder and devoid of confidence only 2 months ago. Sven really has hit the ground running with a fragile squad and his appointment has been a masterstroke. believe what you want but we were heading for League One again and it needed a manager of his calibre to not only get us out of it but to propel us towards a play-off push before all other teams were out of sight. Wellens was superb on saturday, as was Davies, Hobbs and Naughton. I thought Howard lead the line effectively without getting much joy in the air and Abe had Commons in his pocket. He impressed me immensly and I can see him being crucial to our success with this formation. Andy King showed why he's the best goalscoring midfielder outside of the premiership and I was massively impressed by his running with the ball, something he's improved on ten fold over the past 18 months. he's never been the quickest, but he's actually taking players on, which if you add that to his passing ability, tackling and heading prowess and his finishing and you have an almost complete midfielder at just 22. Frightening. Exciting. Hobbs grew in confidence throughout the game, he must of felt the butterflies when he was thrown in late on after wednesdays performance. But he was solid and alongside Davies who was colossal, it was a joy to watch. Vitor has been amazing of late, so Sven has a nice problem to sort out there. Big praise for Lloyd Dyer and Gallagher too, they tormented Derby's full backs and Vassell also had some joy in the first ten minutes of the 2nd half. He'll be a player for us within the near future. There is so many reasons to be positive right now, I know it's early days and the league is still tight at both ends. But there's genuine belief amongst the club again and I think we're creeping under the radar. If we go big in January, it's exciting times indeed.
Raj Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Hard to get excited about home games BUT that was a fine performance. Great to see Hobbs get back to his normal self after a shite performance on Wed. Wellend was immense and that fat tub of lard Howard was Ok too!!!! Great first goal(King must be worth billions now!!!) Abe is getting into it,but still fooks up now and again in possesion, and )ton(see what i did there???) n davies are a class act...pity we cant have em for good!!! Looking good(despite me doing nothing but hammer Sven when he signed!!!)
matty2702 Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Taken from the derby fans forum... Howard Did Howard celebrate after his goal???? On there website it says Howard breaks old clubs heart. I'm gutted we lost but I'm not heart broken. I don't care that he scored but I'm mad that we didn't. Leicester will be saying that they beat their rivals but I really don't care about them. They are a small club and we are big club. yea really sounds like you don't care you tool! Haha sour grapes anyone!?
Maybes Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 For the millionth time Derby fans do care about us. Anything else they say is a mere wind up tactic.
Earlydoorsjones Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 You are right, Derby fans do have a rivalry with Us - it just plays second fiddle to their rivalry with For**t. Actually, those Derby fans that were young when We beat them at Wembly in the Play Off final really give a shit. Still, we have put things right for last season's away game at Prats Park. A For**t fan came up to me today and shook my hand because We beat Derby at the weekend - it did not feel right some how. Left me very confussed all day. It was like watching your car fall off a cliff then realising your mother in law was in it. Oh well - come on Leicester!
