Can you play normal dvd's on a blu ray player?

Yes. They play DVDs pretty well, there may be a slight increase in picture quality too (not really noticeable though).

The only catch is it is very difficult to get your hands on a Multi-Region Blu Ray Player, so if you have a bunch of American DVDs (like I do) it's worth keeping your old multi region DVD player too.

I think we should sticky this thread - there hasn't been a much mention of Blu Ray, given its now THE film format.

This is my Blu Ray Player. Really good, really nice, plays dics reallu well, quick loading times and a crystal clear picture. Very smart looking too.
