Looks like i'm going to be going out in broad street for NYE, haven't ever been brimingham on a night out before, so would be good if anyone who's been on NYE could help me;

will most places be ticket only? i see gatecrasher is charging 35 quid per ticket, ,would be greatful if someone could point me in the way of a few other clubs that i can look into and see what theyre offering,

cheers guys!

Know a couple of people that've been to brum for New Year's. Spent a fair bit.

Going round a friend's for this NYE, always more fun than town and you're not forced to sip £4 VKs all night because everything else is MORE expensive than that.

Ticket or pay on door!! Most decent places will be charging double then ticket price!! I went ticketless a few years ago, we paid £15 to get into revolution it thinks!!

Gatecrasher is supposed to be good on NYE (Mark Ronson, Sidney Samson, Annie Mac are on I think) but I can imagine it being a bit too packed. I'm at uni in Birmingham and go Gatecrasher quite a lot but when it's busy it's not great. HMV Institute have Chase & Status and Jaguar Skills but I'm not sure how much tickets are for that.

Brum is quality on NYE. Went last year and went in pretty much every bar down Broad St, even some some proper pub off the beaten track so we could get a decent ale and rest our ears for a bit from the racous that was O'neills and Walkabout.

Paid about £5 online for my ticket to Snobs and stayed till at least 2 in there and then tried to get in Gatecrasher without a ticket, but it was one in one out and we were absolutely fooked. Ended up spunking about £120 not including the £50 hotel and £20 train.

Think I'm going Leeds this year as got a mate up there so it saves paying a hotel and didn't get much of a night out after Leeds away as we just stayed in the Dry Dock and ended up in Red Leopard strip club :giggle:

I'd go to Digbeth rather than broad street if I were you

Broad st is good, gatecrasher is relaly good but only when it's rammed.

They have got a good Revo's right next door aswell, dont expect much change from £150 that night though

Birmingham.. great night out..

If you are going to get there early doors, just be careful about hitting the Bullring and spending a bit in there!

Other than that, did Gatecrasher with Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 and it was the shizzle.

Spent a good whack though

Spent 4 years at Uni there and its brilliant! Can't knock it and there is a place for pretty much any music you're into. Obviously Gatecrasher is the main highlight but for NYE its a total rip off. A couple of years back we went to Risa which is the other end of Broad St and it was a great night. It depends on your crowd of course but I was with around 12 of my mates so it was a good laugh and ever would have been with just us in there!

Other places to consider are Snobs and clubs around Arcadian. Snobs is more Indie rather than the mainstream stuff. Arcadian is slightly better IMO but a bit more expensive in places.

Don't think you can go wrong to be honest but as Tevez said, easy to spend monies in the Bullring! If you do go early, get the hotdogs from the stall just outside Phones4U which is opposite the bullring! Can't beat them!
