MikeyT Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Abysmal defending for both goals especially the second. Thanks for posting that Davie G.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 2nd goal never would have happened if Hobbs and Morrison had actually played together this season. Even so, one of them should have taken responsibility and I would generally be looking to Hobbs to take the lead in that situation. I loved cunningham,s reaction. I'd be really pleased if he stayed but i think, like some people have already suggested, it could be worth trying him out in left mid. It would have to be soon though obviously before Bruno leaves.
teblin Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 How was he in any way responsible? Shit defending is not his fault. Naughton was at fault for the first. Turned his back on Morrison, the second was hesitant defending. Despite all Neilson's bad point he would've put his body on the line to block it. As would Berner and Brown last year. They might not be as good "footballers" as naughton davies etc but they defend first then worry about the other stuff.

At this level we don't have the luxury of having defenders who can do both of those roles expertly. We can either have somebody who is pacey and skillful but lacks the minerals when it comes to getting stuck in, or somebody who is technically quite poor but will sacrifice his own safety to stop a shot or get a tackle in. Players who can do both do not play for average Championship teams.

Maybe an old style CB is what we need in the shape of Brown (not him though) to help the other technical gifted players man up abit more and wear there their shirts with their hearts on the sleeves!
ScouseFox Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 That whole video was horrific to watch. Jesus, their goals, shocking defending, and that tackle ain't much better.
acooling08 Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Dear me what were we doing for both goals? Need a real shouter centre back and a load keeper (weal-o?)
Chairman of the Bored Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Foxes aren't "dumb", as I'm sure you know Davie. They're cunning and courageous. Our back four (five) is dumb. Thank you.

cc_star Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I don't really know how a manager & coaching team can allow this to happen game after game after game after game What worries me is 5mins after the final whistle most managers will be locking the players in the dressing room and having it out, but Sven's there in front of the cameras & radio mics doing his schmoozing Is Southgate right about him?
