Kingfisher Posted 10 January 2011 Author Posted 10 January 2011 FYI: a number of people here, on Talking Balls and on Bentley's Roof have a history of being generous with good causes. If Bamba were to set up a Just Giving page to fundraise for this hospital you may find you'd acquire donations in addition to and excess of funds raised through an auction of kit. Daggers great advice and much appreciated. I spoke with Bamba last night and he is up for doing all he can to help. Many thanks
Kingfisher Posted 10 January 2011 Author Posted 10 January 2011 Can we bid for Bamba's Hibs one? Nobody else on here will want it though, try it on Hibs.net or Hibees bounce. I am open to offers but obviously i wouldnt let it go for less than it costs to buy a strip in the clubshop .
Rob1742 Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I am open to offers but obviously i wouldnt let it go for less than it costs to buy a strip in the clubshop . £100 over here please, it would be going to a good home.
cecchini Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 £100 over here please, it would be going to a good home. 125 pounds from me.
Rob1742 Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 125 pounds from me. Is there a timing situation with regards this? When do you stop the bids etc? Probably needs to be a few guidelines.
Haydos Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 1 Gillion dollars Gillion or Jillion? Either way, you have no chance with my Gazillions.
Zingari Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 damn , i thought this was going to be a sexy youtube video
Dylan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 You could maybe do a raffle/prize draw thing, which would probably raise more money. Like £1/2 a ticket, I'm sure you can get a few hundered people to enter, especially if Bamba can publicise it himself. Seen it before, where people use sites like eBay to buy the tickets (using BuyItNow). Then do a prize draw. Use the home game v Millwall to sell tickets. People will be more likely to spare a pound or two if its going to charity, and most wouldn't mind if its only a pound or two, spare change.

Dylan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Would be a decent idea but you would need enough people. If its advertised on all City forums, and Bamba publicises it somehow, added to being sold at the Millwall home game, there'd surely be at least a few hundred sold?
LufbraBlue Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Who said he did Bert ! Played in every other qualifier . Had a slight injury at the world cup but was in the pool and got the strip . The good news is it's " unused " . The authentication I offered was that Bamba would present it himself to the winner ... Just like the ladies' pants I buy online I would only consider "used".
Guest ttfn Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Not sure how this would work, but maybe the forum could buy it. Everyone throw in £2.

If 100 of us were prepared to put in £5 each and the kit could be displayed in the 1884 bar/Graet Hall. In return we get a 30-minute "meet the Bamba slot" for all 100 of us when he presents the shirt. What do people think?
Jackirius Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I'm open to any good suggestions .. How about like the foxestalk 50 brick? Here are the things which have been suggested. Or you could just sell it straight up, i believe the current bid is £125. Personally i think the raffle would be the best idea, maybe you could ring the club and get them to advertise it in the program at the Millwall game, you would need to come up with a way of getting the money, a price for a ticket etc. Make sure that people know it is for a great cause
Dylan Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Maybe you could ask them to replace the £500 draw for this, and give proceeds to you? I'm sure they don't make a vast amount on that draw, and them missing out on one match wouldn't liquidate us. And I'm sure more people would buy tickets seeing as its for charity instead? Don't think the club would want to do this though
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I'm open to any good suggestions .. I suggest whatever you do, you do it before the next game - I sense Mr Bamba is unlikely to put a performance like that again (this season, maybe even lifetime) and the winge prarade will get on his back after a while. Sol is as hot as hot can get at the moment - take advantage!
Kingfisher Posted 10 January 2011 Author Posted 10 January 2011 Good point DJ but one fact you won't read in the newspapers is that Mr Bamba player brilliantly in almost every Ivory Coast African Nations qualifier and World Cup qualifiers . Some or the big stars weren't interested and only started showing up in later stages . People are saying he has an Afro Scots accent but he is French , born and raised in Paris . Bamba has both passports and could have opted to play for either . Bamba chose Ivory Coast as the country needed all the lift it could get and he could help and put a smile back on the multitudes of poor kids in his fathers homeland .. And oh by the way you haven't seen anything yet . He has a shot like a cannon !!!
Kingfisher Posted 10 January 2011 Author Posted 10 January 2011 How much for the shirt he wore on sunday? How much are you willing to pay
Daggers Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 I'm open to any good suggestions .. Are you female and fit? I have a magnificent suggestion involving lube, my wife, a double ended vibrator, a webcam and the kit. It will raise more than just the money for a hospital.
