Policing at the football

Best one was at Preston away last season.

Coppers were no where to be seen, all Leicester fans mixing around the front of deepdale with Preston fans.

But when we go towards the away ends, round the corner. Theres about 6 policemen on horses, Dog handlers, Never seen so many police.

Crazy.

S****horpe after league 1 was something else.

Millwall was but it was understandable.

The ones batoning the kids trying to do a pitch invasion after we'd got the trophy?

To be honest, I think you'll find it very rare that anyone will say the police have done well, they'll just remember them for the bad points.

Have to say the Policing i have seen at Leicester in recent years has generally been very fair, last few away games i have been to have included Huddersfield, Walsall and Peterborough and again they seemed to be okay there too

can't see how old they are, but it's the same principle.

Where are the police with batons? Where is the steward thuggery? How do you know what went on beforehand? Did the fans put up a struggle which is the reason it looked quite agressive?

Whats the same principle?

you are a touchy one. as i said in my previous post it is a minority.

at about 25 seconds in there is clearly a hand round the neck

44 seconds, when there is a ridiculous amount of stewards around him a hand is thrown towards him

don't get me wrong i appreciate what you do, but as that video shows some mis-doings do go on.

i think the leicester one's are actually fairly decent

but Kev's in control.

The police were exceptional on Saturday, Millwall fans were contained in a 'horseshoe' outside the ground to stop them getting at our fans. When our own fans came out and began to sing at the contained Millwall fans there could have been a situation develop into scenes from the 80's we all hope will never happen again. Good tactics were used to calmly seperate the groups and stop any potential of public order. Nobody was harshly treated by over zealous officers. Both sets of fans were kept apart and no disorder took place.

We have well trained officers at our ground and don't suffer from over oppressive tactics seen at some grounds on our travels.

In all fairness, I've never, ever had a problem with the police at our place.

Their presence is rarely oppressive as it has been in Peterborough, Nottingham and to a lesser extent Sheffield.

I dunno, I got nutted by one standing by their coach as I was walking past. No I didn't do anything prior, nor did I do anything after. One copper nicked the bloke and another came up asked if i was ok and then told me to get walking!

If were honest, how many times can you ACTUALLY remember an incident of significant note with heavy handed policing/stewarding?

Stewards and police simply dont act in an overzealous way without provocation or breaches of the law/ground regulations....in which case it is not them that is wrong.
