Electrical Apprentership

Try your local water provider as sparks are needed for work on the big sites - Water pumping stations, treatment works etc and if they are anything like NIW then they definitely need more. If you get on then they put you through your NVQs (as far as I remember) and you gain experience too.

Just a suggestion.

I am currently organizing placement for next year as a building surveyor and have found it a difficult process trying to get a reply from companies. I've finally managed to get a placement within the NHS.

Your best bet is to send speculative emails with your CV and covering letter attached to companies or better still walk into the reception of companies and see if they can offer you anything. Remember to tailor your CV and covering letter to each individual company.

Couple of companies to try from memory;

East Goscote Plumbers - don't be put off by the name, they provide a range of services including maintenance and installation of building services. A relatively big company in Leicester. Not sure if they offer apprenticeships.Preece and Co Electricians, glenfield - they gave my brother an electricians apprenticeship a couple of years back, not sure if they still do but they were good to him.

Lovell - pretty good training scheme I think...

David Wilhim homes and william davis maybe worth a try.

Good luck.

They do on the PLumbing side of things. A very good firm by all accounts. Apprentices are registered withJTL meaning they earn a right decent wage from the off

Also, try British Gas. They do Electrical Apprenticeships I think. They took on a couple of plumbers last summer, so I imagine if you registered now.

Try googling british gas academy, that should get you on the right page

They hardly have any plumbing apprenticeships available in Crewe. That's why I have to do a course in college, these are times I would prefer living in Leicester.
