Go to your local connexions centre, they specialise in 16-24 year olds (or something around that age) and are usually really good at finding you apprenticeships etc.

Hey Hey i came out of my time in 2009 with HND in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. I am now the manager of the first department i went in

I work for Brush Electrical Machines in Loughborough, i believe we are taking 20 odd apprentices on in September time - any good? i could get u some info?

i dont know how to do that link thing but these are a couple of things you've said ....

Good English could help you find an apprenticeship though...

You could borrow his dictionary. That would be more useful.

not very constructive to say the least and if thats not picking faults then i dont know what is ...

Whatever, Those comments weren't really serious compared to what other people posted. Look at the paragraph below and you'll see advice that I'm trying to give you. Read it.

Plus you get a free Chlamydia test, for your randy ****ers (Jackirius and AOWW, it's free! )

Connexions help, but for anyone in the Melton area, never ask for Mary. She could say the words 'Connexion centre', and make it last 4 hours.

Or text TESTME and your mates address to 88020 to make them receive one through the post!

Please tell me this is another attempt at humour?

'Your', not 'you're' (you're is a shortened version of 'You are' and 'You are CV' makes no sense.

Oh and something can be mistake-ridden, but not ridden with mistakes. That will be 'riddled with mistakes'. Just a small point or two, but if you're going to correct someone on English in such a piss taking way, make sure you don't give ammo to others.

Lol chill as if it affects me in any way shape or form how bad his English is. I don't care. Mine is good enough, thanks. The post just here and your one previous are quite contradictory.

There are grammatical errors, and there are typos. Of which mine quite clearly was as it's inconsistent with the rest of the paragraph and my other posts :) ('you're' was on my mind as you can see by the ps at the bottom)

your jokes keep getting funnier

ive been to more away games this season than you have in the last 5 seasons, your the only joke here .... part-timer

lol

The good thing about Brush is, the train is right next door to it. You can't miss the place. I get the train to Loughborough College everyday when I'm on block release. It's simple enough. I'm sure you'd have no problems, especially if you've been on the train to all the away games you've been this season.

Not really. LIke I said, it is fine to correct someone's spelling, grammar etc - just don't take the piss like you did. Some people are just bad at getting what they mean down on paper - it's just the way people are wired. I didn't take the piss out of you, suggest you get a dictionary etc - but if you do take the piss, don't leave yourself wide open. People in glass houses etc...

I don't normally take a disliking to people on this forum - but in your case, DB11 I'll make an exception.

I'm more concerned by the misuse of a semicolon on the drumroll sentence near the start of the thread, Martin Cutts 'Guide to Plain English' anyone?

Put me on ignore then. I've got better things to worry about than if someone likes me on FoxesTalk.

Who's hacked DB11's account? He's annoying normally but now he's annoying with an attitude.

lol DB11 trying to pick on someone else's intelligence. Fuck me, that's like having Anne Widdecombe call you ugly.

Get back in your hole, Daniel. I'll happily giggle along at just about anyone having the piss taken out of them but I think if there are any people in the world who don't deserve scorn then it's those who are actively out to better themselves.

In regards your spelling and English, though, Ross - keep in mind that even practical trades these days may have some emphasis on basic numeracy and literacy so it is worth putting the effort in.

What the man says is all true.

Please don't get too hung up on it, but at the same time, don't let anyone tell you that it doesn't matter. Being able to demonstrate these things can keep a lot of doors open

You don't have to explain yourself to people on here pal. Good luck with finding an apprenticeship

is there a BTEC in electrical engineering course in Leic college that you could do on a part time basis

to assist with your applications ?

No he doesn't have to. It would just be nice if he took other people's advice on alternatives if there are no apprenticeships out there.

I agree on the advice part mate. My comment was aimed at when he said his grades - He doesn't have to explain himself to someone trying to rip his English lol.

I am currently organizing placement for next year as a building surveyor and have found it a difficult process trying to get a reply from companies. I've finally managed to get a placement within the NHS.

Your best bet is to send speculative emails with your CV and covering letter attached to companies or better still walk into the reception of companies and see if they can offer you anything. Remember to tailor your CV and covering letter to each individual company.

Couple of companies to try from memory;

East Goscote Plumbers - don't be put off by the name, they provide a range of services including maintenance and installation of building services. A relatively big company in Leicester. Not sure if they offer apprenticeships.

Preece and Co Electricians, glenfield - they gave my brother an electricians apprenticeship a couple of years back, not sure if they still do but they were good to him.

Lovell - pretty good training scheme I think...

David Wilhim homes and william davis maybe worth a try.

Good luck.
