Season Ticket

Hello everyone, long time reader first time poster etc. Sorry if I've posted in the wrong section, but the ticket section doesn't seem to get many replies.

To cut a long story short I was gonna get (well still am!) a season ticket for next season. There was going to be 5 of us going, but one by one they've dropped off. Job losses, no money etc.

Now I really want to go, but obviously as this is the first time i've had a season ticket (I normally buy on the day about 10-15 times a season) I'm wondering if anyone else goes alone? I'd assume they do? I'm gonna get a ticket in SK1 I think after much deliberation (I like the corner view and its within my price range).

I'd assume you'd get talking to others anyway (and I will literally talk to anyone!), but I just wanted some views on people that had done it before.

What yer reckon?

I did for for 6 games at the start of this season, t'was fine but having been in that seat for every season at the walkers i knew the people sat round me - in your case that's unlikely and i think a fair bit of going to the games is the social side of it.

sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

I normally go with my lad (g2) but on the odd occasion I have been a 'Billy no mates' I always seem able to strike up some chat with those around, although I see the same faces match by match. We are quite a friendly bunch at the walkers!

I'm a season ticket holder in SK4,,and there are two seats next to me that go on general sale,,,i always end up in convsersation with whoever buys the seat,,as do those in the row in front and behind..I've even been known to share my jelly babies!

a woman(into football) offering sweets out to strangers hey.. think i might go sittin sk4 next time... lol

op if you do go aheaad with it you may want to try the area out first, just to see if any other regulars..

going on your own can be ok ,but ending up stuck next to people you dont get on to all season would be worse..

I had a ticket, up in K block this season. I spent quite a few of the games on my own but just talked to the people stood next to me. Suppose it all depends on who your next to

I'm buying one on my todd when I'm at home this weekend.

Sat on my own before and chatted to a few people, as has been said it sort of depends who your next to.

Doesn't really bother me though, I enjoy it either way.

Likewise I go with my boy in the family stand, but when he doesn't come I'm on my own.

It's absolutely fine and if you get a season ticket you will soon get the know the faces around you.

I met with "Alex" the rep and had a tour and tried out a load of seats. I've also tested the views when buying matchday tickets in different areas. I found I prefer it higher up, I was on the second row in SK2 once and hated it! Its looking like I'll be in SK1 about 4 rows from the back.

Also the rep bloke is getting me a seat with spares next to it at the minute in case my mates suddenly find some money from somewhere. Although if they don't I'm gonna look a right plonker with no one around me, and he did say I could swap after a few weeks if I didnt like who was next to me!

Don't get too excited..I make sure I take all the orange and red ones out before I offer the packet around!
