BNET Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Although he never plays and never scores i still like the guy, i think he is a cool guy to have in the dressing room and good for the younger lads who has had a good carrer and i hope the younger players look up to him in that way, but as i say on the pitch he offers nothing but as i have said above i think the team value him as much as i do, 9/10 on foxes talk don't agree but who the hell cares! Leicester City is a football club who are trying to get promoted, it's not a gay night club.
MrSpaM Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Kingy gets the armband, let's hope he stays now From the LM "Matt Oakley is handing over the Leicester City captain's armband to Andy King. Oakley has signed a new one-year deal to stay at the Walkers Stadium until the end of next season. But he said it was time for King to become the permanent skipper. King has deputised for Oakley when the 33-year-old midfielder has been out of Sven-Goran Eriksson's starting line-up. But the club captain has regained the armband when called upon. However, Oakley said it was time for King to succeed him and become City's full-time captain, and has pledged his full support for the 22-yearold Welsh international. "Kingy is doing well," said Oakley. "He is captain when I am not on the pitch and, maybe, it is time for that transition to him. "I can support him from behind and, hopefully, he will become the player that we all hope he will be. "I think the captain should be on the pitch every week and I am not going to be there every game. I will feature at some point and, if I can help the team out for 15 or 20 minutes, or get the odd game, then great. "I am only going to make a certain amount of starts and appearances from the bench. I have to see the bigger picture." Oakley said he was delighted to sign the new contract and has no desire to leave City, despite his lack of starts under Eriksson. The midfielder said he had to accept he would not start every week, but believes he has a wider role to play. "I am delighted to sign the new contract," he said. "I had conversations with Sven in January and he made it very clear he didn't want me to go. "I was a vital part of the squad with my experience, and he has got Steve Howard on another contract as well, so he was keen for me to sign. "It was all done pretty quickly and I was very pleased with how it went. There were no fallings out over the contract. "Other clubs came in for me, but my family are settled in the area and my children are in great schools. I don't really want to have to make another step, sell my house and stuff. "The football is very important to me but I have to keep one eye on outside as well.""
kyle09uk Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Oakley may not lght this dvision up but i still believe he does have a part to play, he's accepting he wont probably play that much. with his experience in the game he will do some good as an extra option. No doubt come ext season if we keep our main CM's we'll still be gaining an extra one which will further push Oakley down the pecking order but surely everyone can see that as a 'backup player' he still is a good player to have in the squad?

When he comes on as sub what extra option does he give us ? Do you ever think, good Oakley's coming on he'll win us the game ? He offers us nothing in any capacity at all, get real he is one of the worst players we have ever had. Please tell what he gives us, as l can't see one thing. If you can't answer that, you know the truth but are denying it.
Marcus1995 Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Leicester City is a football club who are trying to get promoted, it's not a gay night club. Oh behave! child
adamkhalifa Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 1. I ain't no football manager, but what limited football knowledge I do have tells me, he must be doing something amazing outside his onfiled matchday displays. Perhaps, he makes a superb brew, or he knows how to do up his shoe laces. 2. I would class as myself as a nice guy, but, what I do know is, if i don't hit my targets at work, i'm out. 3, Good luck to him though, just a little dissapointed by 'The Svens' forward plans.
funkyrobot Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 The Oakley contract news has made me feel quite ill. :0b
