MikeyT Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 One of the comments I've just seen on Facebook just shows what utter pricks some of our fans are. And it's on the LCFC Ofiicial page on there. Dan Young whoever you are, grow up. He says this: "Well thats ruined my day. Hes a ****".

Corky Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 If he's a back-up then I'm okay with it. He is past his best and it's a shame we didn't get him five or so years ago when he went to Derby.
MikeyT Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 I went to school with him, not the nicest of fellas. What a **** he is agree. No,he called Oakley that.
Wymsey Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Tell me exactly what are the benefits of this guy playing? I can't find any apart from the odd pass that does go to another of our players.
MrSpaM Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Tell me exactly what are the benefits of this guy playing? I can't find any apart from the odd pass that does go to another of our players. He's the only player in our squad that has the faintest idea how to captain our team on the pitch for a start. Everybody else who's been given the armband seems to turn into a mute.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Easy enough to understand in the current circumstances. We don't know which league we'll be playing in next season and Oakley is known to be not only a good and fairly durable professional but he's known to be a good and positive influence around the place, including the training ground. I'm thinking out loud but would see no reason Oakley might now get involved in other areas involving coaching/aspects of management. Oakley is an intelligent, articulate club captain and I can see no reason why he couldn't remain an all-round asset to us. No-one complained when Powell moved on from playing to non-playing duties. Thracian in talking sense shocker!!
Itsthejoeker Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Sven has said it many a time now that Oakley works the hardest at training, so what is the harm in having him around to be an example and motivate the younger players? It's not like his wages are going to be huge...
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Good back up (only), has bags of experience, prob starting his badges too, although who's looking after his wine business????

I think the extension to Oaks for a year is a good indication of what league we will be in. I think most who have had the 'pleasure' to see him in the last 2 seasons will know he serves no purpose if we are a club on the up. If he wants to saty in some sort of Coaching role ie Chris Pl fair enough but if he will still get his ££££ for playing the odd game in a season its a massive waste
acooling08 Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 So he is useless and everyone hates him? Nobheads. Oakley will become a coach like Chrissy P soon. Good servant to the club over the years.
Kilworthfox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 how utterly shit, makes me think I have a chance! Big thumbs down!
BNET Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 He can't tackle He can't pass to a blue shirt He can't beat a man He doesn't score He doesn't shoot He doesn't make space We mostly don't win when he plays I've never saw him play well As a captain, you've got to be joking !!!! The only reason l can think that he as been given a contract for, is that we might con someone into giving us a few quid for him, why else ?
BNET Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Errrrrrrr, why? A free agent with no contract we get F A.
Jackirius Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 I dont agree with him being captain but **** me give the guy a break.
The Padster Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 You guys clearly aren't seeing what contract he has signed.... OS
Marcus1995 Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Although he never plays and never scores i still like the guy, i think he is a cool guy to have in the dressing room and good for the younger lads who has had a good carrer and i hope the younger players look up to him in that way, but as i say on the pitch he offers nothing but as i have said above i think the team value him as much as i do, 9/10 on foxes talk don't agree but who the hell cares!
Bugg Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 What's the deal with my comments being deleted? I was only speaking the truth!!!
ajthefox Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 I dont agree with him being captain but **** me give the guy a break.
