The Doctor Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Wanna be doing it tomorrow if we score (whole away end) no, Goal celebrations are supposed to be random, spontaneous expressions of sheer euphoria, not organised and pre-meditated like "the poznan". Also those shirts are unbelievably retarded.
Leicester Lass Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 no, Goal celebrations are supposed to be random, spontaneous expressions of sheer euphoria, not organised and pre-meditated like "the poznan". Also those shirts are unbelievably retarded. But the Poznan is never and has never been the initial reaction to the goal, there is always the celebrations first, and then the Poznan.
The Doctor Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Fair enough - can't say I've ever paid attention to how L1 were celebrating, I've usually ended up on the floor due to over-exuberant celebrating.
Bert Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Only Stoke fans would wear them t-shirts. That's how shit they are.
Soccer AM Fox Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Wanna be doing it tomorrow if we score (whole away end) Amen to that. Even if you're not a fan it would really impress.
acooling08 Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 I'd rather be watching the match than jumping the wrong way Plus my dad has just had key hole surgery on his knee so he will barely be able to stand for 90 minutes let alone jump up and down.
Soccer AM Fox Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Only Stoke fans would wear them t-shirts. That's how shit they are. Not even Bernie would where it.
acooling08 Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Not even Bernie would where it. *Wear it. Sorry, I just can't let it go uncorrected
Soccer AM Fox Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 *Wear it. Sorry, I just can't let it go uncorrected Apologies
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 Really surprised at the hostility towards the OP. Seems like a bit of fun to me; certainly not worthy of the sort of criticism being offered in this thread.
Kitchandro Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 I know, people chant that and I think it's really poor. And now to make a t-shirt out of it. No thanks. Nobody chants that when they do it.

Seems like a bit of fun to me; certainly not worthy of the sort of criticism being offered in this thread. It's nothing personal at him. This is indicative of the modern football fan though and some may think it's an overreaction but I just think it's this kind of thing (obviously this is a small part of it) that is taking the soul out of football.
Kitchandro Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 The poznan or Grecque or whatever you want to call it is great, I don't care if some people find it embarrassing, I'm not going to stop doing it. I agree the shirts are retarded though.
millzi Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 I find it quite embarrassing that we stole this off Man City...

I think it's an attempt at putting a little soul back into football. It is a goal response which developed completely independently of any official input from the club; the fans decided to do it based on what they had seen abroad. It's the first time I have seen Leicester fans decide as a partial collective how they are going to celebrate a goal together. I think we need more developments like this, not less.

I'm not talking about doing it (i'm a big fan if you read a few posts up), i'm talking about the t-shirt. It looks good, it doesn't take anything from the initial celebrations etc, it's just when we need to wear t-shirts to try and get people to have a bit of fun and create a bit of atmosphere...it just doesn't sit right. If it was Cov doing this we'd have a 10 page thread ripping them to pieces.

I don't think the t-shirt will have any effect on the number of people doing it. It's hardly the start of a pro-Poznan campaign; just a bit of fun. I take your point though; contrived atmosphere is sometimes as bad as no atmosphere.
z-layrex Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 The Poznan is sad. Man City fans look like fu**ing idiots when they do it.
MORGAN Posted 21 April 2011 Author Posted 21 April 2011 We can always change the words and sing lets all do the Leicester or dotn sing at all just do this la la la la lalalalalala lalala lalala lalalalalala Leicester and than I think the problem is sorted

This is what people chant:
The Doctor Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 CDP is just as cringe worthy as "Let's do the poznan".
Kitchandro Posted 21 April 2011 Posted 21 April 2011 CDP is just as cringe worthy as "Let's do the poznan". lighten up old man
