Lineker's Left Foot Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 Now that we're basically out of the play-off race, do people think it's a good idea to play some of the youngsters?? Obviously Schlupp and Parkes are on loan, but should any of the others be given a chance and if so, who??
TheUltimateWinner Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 Smith, Hoban, Taft, Yusuf, Moore, Byrne, C King, Chambers etc
sdb Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 If they're decent, yes. It's now or never realistically.
lcfcbradyboy Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 Jorrin John and Ashley Chambers look like two quality wingers / Strikers. Try them out and with schlupp up there aswell could be some great fast front 3.
BoneDog Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 I would leave it until after tomorrows game, just incase a miracle happens - we win and all three teams on 66 points lose - but if that doesn't happen then I would definitely give a few of the youngsters a crack in the last two games. There would be no pressure on them and it would be a great chance to see how they fare against decent league players.
samjohnson Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 Sign me to play in goal. Im more than qualified. I once caught a ball from a cross and won U13 Division B when I was younger.
Bugg Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 In response to the question, No. We can't just throw every youth teamer into the first team squad to give them a go, we still have points to play for and I'd rather us finish as high as we can in the table. The only reason we should play the youth players is if they're good enough, not because we have nothing to play for and give them games for the sake of it. Oh, and there will be a reason why Jorrin John and Ashley Chambers won't play for us, and that's cause they aren't good enough.

Don't worry, with ' instant success Sven' we' ll never have the chance to see them anyway....

TheUltimateWinner Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 Ill be in goal if you want, i allready train with leicester at the moment! Good with long range shots too
FoxesFan123 Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 Yussuf was on loan at Tamworth recently and then on trial at Oldham Jorrin John is out on loan, as is Ashley Chambers to York (think he's out of contact in the summer and will probably sign for York?) Also is there not a rule where we must play our strongest team possible in every game, so we can't go putting in a load of youngsters

Good with long range shots too Even though we have no idea if you are telling the truth... or even if you lost an arm somehow... You can't be any worse than what we have already. You have my vote

With the way we have been playing lately, they possibly are the strongest team.
Jimothy Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 I'm with Empty on this. It would be just our luck to field a team of kids, lose, and results go our way where a victory would have put us right back in it. Leave it until after tomorrow. Plus Donny aren't a great team, so would be a good one to play a few kids. I think playing a lot of youngster against a decent side like Watford is asking for a hammering, leaving their confidence shot before they've even started.
ScouseFox Posted 24 April 2011 Posted 24 April 2011 No. Technically the season isn't over, and it'd be very unprofessional and pretty stupid to field a weakened team when, if things go right, we could be a win away from 6th. We all know it's incrediby unlikely, but to give up whilst it's still possible is sending out the wrong message.
Finnegan Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Would love Chambers to have made it here but I think we need to accept he's not just a boy anymore. If he was a true prospect he'd have been dazzling on loan for years and on the edge of the squad. Shame.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Give Taft a go at Left Back can't do him any harm and 3 X 90 minutes in the first team is probably worth a dozen reserve team games. Brilliant for his development
