shiv Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 1. £10 million will not get us up, we need a lot more than that. 2. As much as I massively admire Emile Heskey for what he did for us when we went into administration in 2002, he is now 33 and isn't the Emile Heskey that we all remember in the Filbert Street days. If he was to come I wouldn't want him to be "our number 9", what I think would be beneficial to us if he came as Player/coach and get a young up and coming striker like Nils Petersen from Energie Cottbus who I admire, who Heskey can help nurture and train up, aswell as be a bit part player himself. 3. Same as Shay Given he's 35 and in my opinion thats too old, even for a Goalkeeper, I'd prefer someone like Fraser Forster, who is younger, in better form, and has the potential to become a better Goalkeeper than Given. 4. Yakubu aswell too old, inconsistant and past it, someone like Freddy Adu would be a much better proposition and I've heard Benfica are willing to let him go on the cheap. 5. Kamara - no thank you, again too old and past it. 6. The forward line of Nils Petersen and Freddy Adu would be lethal and would storm the Championship, but its a shame that someone behind the scenes of the Walkers Stadium doesn't see that. 7. Are we ever gonna ****ing change our transfer policy, and learn that this system of bringing in near retired rejects just doesn't ****ing work, and learn from examples such as Matt Busby, Brian Clough, Don Revie, Sir Alex Ferguson, George Graham, who prove that bringing through a promising young team is the best way to be successful. 8. Atleast it looks like the Durham Donkey Steve Howard is finally on his way back up north to Sheffield Wednesday, and he'll be playing in a league he belongs in, ah well you not what they say every cloud... Complete and utter rubbish. 1. You do not need more than £10M to get out of this league. Get real. 2. Heskey would do a job at this level, he's basically a much better Steve Howard (who has done fantastically well for us in the last two years although he may now be past it). 3. Shay Given is a world class goalkeeper. Look at Van der Saar, he's 40 and still at the top of his game. 4. Yakubu may be inconsistent but he isn't past it! He's 28 for ****'s sake! 5. Okay so he didn't do too well after his impressive debut. But the guy has proven he is a quality player at Championship level and would be available on a free. 31 years old is not past it! 6. Who the **** is Nils Petersen? I'm guessing he's some guy you signed on Football Manager who scored a few goals for you. Well done. Freddy Adu was good on Championship Manager 03/04 when he was like 14. He's hardly lived up to his "wonderkid" expectations. So how do you know that attack would be lethal? You don't. 7. Football is much different to how it was 20-30 years ago! 8. What about his game in the play-offs against Cardiff last season? The guy tore Cardiff's defence apart.

Maybe we should sign some wonderkids Go outside, stay away from computer games for a while, you are deluded.
Ambitious Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 I have no idea about the players mentioned but I feel that we need a new front partnership. Yes mate your right these two:
shiv Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Yes mate your right these two: Wow a youtube video. Kermorgant has one too...
Ambitious Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Wow a youtube video. Kermorgant has one too... Difference is he's shit
milsey Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 heskey alone- no thanks heskey and owen-YES PLEASE!!!!!!
Ambitious Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Maybe we should sign some wonderkids Go outside, stay away from computer games for a while, you are deluded. Yes mate your right we should sign wonderkids 100% agree. No just right.
shiv Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Difference is he's shit But how do you know those two won't do shit for us? You don't. You can't base a player on a YouTube video. And you still haven't answered my first post.
Itsthejoeker Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 No just right. But seriously do you judge all of you predictions on FM? You want a bunch of 16 year olds for a push to for promotion? wow.
themotivator Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Yes mate your right we should sign wonderkids 100% agree. No just right. you will not win with arguments like this
Itsthejoeker Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Lets blow over half of the 11 mill on .. It's called irony?
milsey Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Kamara past it? At 30? Right. Freddy Adu is clearly garbage now as he's been loaned out to about 5 different clubs and now resides in the turkish 2nd tier. 10m is plenty to get us up, do you think all the other teams are going to be spending that much? i agree, the man talks trash. freddy adu is one of the biggest let downs in world football. They called him the american pele when all he was was a money making scam. CRAP!!
themotivator Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Don't think Heskey is realistic to be honest. He is still playing for Villa, started the last 3 games, and they are short on strikers as Gabby is used a winger. And people saying he isn't good enough anymore Go and ask Villa fans who they want playing with Bent. i agree. most of my family are villa fans and i know what they think of him, obviously they give him the stick heskey has always gotten, but they know how good he is really.
Kitchandro Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Yes mate your right these two: You have posted that video on pretty much every thread in the last 2 weeks. This guy was amazing for me on Fifa, lets buy him: He has a great goalscoring record

So how have so many teams got out of this league before without spending anywhere near that? 2. Who the **** is Nils Petersen? 3. Fraser Forster isn't as good as you think he is, he's fairly gash. 4. Benfica are willing to let adu go on the cheap because adu is shit. 5. In what way is he past it, he's 30 or so and with modern fitness coaching players can easily go on to their fourties. 6. No it wouldn't 7. Where have we brought in any near retired rejects under sven or sousa? The last player approaching his retirement we brought in was probably chrissy P. 8. He's still a handful at this level, he destroyed cardiff's defence in the P/O's last season and is our 5th top goalscorer this term despite only playing half the matches.
Candidcamera Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Hobbs is lacking pace but defends the high ball and presses the oncoming players better. His distribution is never going to be great. Mee does read the game well and can play the left side role. He can be panicked and when he is the player the ball is thrown to his distribution and time on the ball makes him a liability. He is not as tall as you would like. Vitor IMO has limited pace but is a good defender and can come out and block well. If we had gone with this partnership for the last few games it would have been interesting. For some reason it seems that Vitor will return to Bnefica.

Sven said he's starting talks with them this week, and unless Benfica plan on playing him next season I think we could sneak another season-long loan in!
Haydos Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Kyle Naughton > Serie B right back. Anyone > Freddy Adu
artursteppe Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 The £10m+ to spend will be added to by the income from the sale of players, I am guessing. I think Waggy, Steve Howard and a number of squad players will be sold, as well as hopefully Wellens. We will not get promoted if he is still a first choice midfield player for us next season. Now he is getting older, and if he slows down any more he'll be walking pace. He is overrated and MUST go. I really hope Sven isn't just picking him 'cos he seems to be the 'darling' of so many fans They will tell you 'when Wellens plays well, Leicester play well' - the truth is this - 'when Leicester play well, Wellens plays well'. The difference is huge, and vital. For the first time this season we saw what can be done without him ( 2nd half against Watford ) - this was undeniably our best 'fightback' of the season, and could not have been done with Wellens in the side. PLEEAASE Sven get shot of him!
