Eriksson handed £10m to land Hesky and Given

I havn't been on football manager for years, that starting 11 I mentioned would get us back up, keep us up and then some, you lot are just typical unambitious, ignorant idiots who seem happy supporting a medioka club for the rest of your lives, but no not me, I want LCFC to go to the top, and the players you lot mention day in day out, will not get us there end of.

Mate, it's quite plausible that you watch and follow European football and fair enough, it's cool that you have a wide knowledge outside of England. A lot have jumped on your back for suggesting 'FM players' which I think is a cheap dig because apart from merely showing players off, you're insisting they're the answer to our problems and they'd smash the Champ and keep us in the Prem which is a completely moronic way of going about things.

1. £10 million will not get us up, we need a lot more than that.

2. As much as I massively admire Emile Heskey for what he did for us when we went into administration in 2002, he is now 33 and isn't the Emile Heskey that we all remember in the Filbert Street days. If he was to come I wouldn't want him to be "our number 9", what I think would be beneficial to us if he came as Player/coach and get a young up and coming striker like Nils Petersen from Energie Cottbus who I admire, who Heskey can help nurture and train up, aswell as be a bit part player himself.

3. Same as Shay Given he's 35 and in my opinion thats too old, even for a Goalkeeper, I'd prefer someone like Fraser Forster, who is younger, in better form, and has the potential to become a better Goalkeeper than Given.

4. Yakubu aswell too old, inconsistant and past it, someone like Freddy Adu would be a much better proposition and I've heard Benfica are willing to let him go on the cheap.

5. Kamara - no thank you, again too old and past it.

6. The forward line of Nils Petersen and Freddy Adu would be lethal and would storm the Championship, but its a shame that someone behind the scenes of the Walkers Stadium doesn't see that.

7. Are we ever gonna ****ing change our transfer policy, and learn that this system of bringing in near retired rejects just doesn't ****ing work, and learn from examples such as Matt Busby, Brian Clough, Don Revie, Sir Alex Ferguson, George Graham, who prove that bringing through a promising young team is the best way to be successful.

8. Atleast it looks like the Durham Donkey Steve Howard is finally on his way back up north to Sheffield Wednesday, and he'll be playing in a league he belongs in, ah well you not what they say every cloud...

Freddy Adu?! Put your old Champ Managers away.

Yeah maybe he does. 8 goals in 62 appearances though for a premier league striker is frankly pathetic. We want someone who scores on a regular basis ... not another liability infront of goal which he clearly is.

Sorry i know i'm biased being a massive Heskey appreciator but some of the drivel posted here needs addressing.

Thinking that the only part of a strikers game that's important is scoring goals, in my opinion shows a complete lack of understanding of the game.

If that's the be all and end all of strikers why would countless topclass managers have bought him to their clubs and why would he have got so many caps for England?

One of two things has happen here, either all those managers have got it wrong, over and over again, season after season, world cup after world cup, or........ some of you Heskey bashers out there may be mistaken in your opinion of someone who is and will always be one of Leicester City's all time greats.

Shame on you, you know he got confidence issues we'd be lucky to have him any day.

I cannot believe I've just read the last 9 pages. Kill me now.

I decided to skip to the last page around page 5.

On topic, getting Given would be a quality signing, but Heskey is getting too old imo.

oh the actual topic, yes agreed GIVEN would be a quality if unrealistic signing, we need a strong spine to a decent team and that obviously starts with a decent goalie, Weale and Ricardo are both okay but not good enough

If we got Kamara and Yakubu plus we have Vassell, Waghorn and Howard, I can't see old Emile getting many games. What is the point? :dunno:

This smacks of "Who used to play for Leicester and who is out of favour plus what do they need", guesswork of the lowest order. Given and Heskey... I wouldn't offer much past £5 million for the two, if that, and most of that money would be for Given.

EDIT: as usual, I only read the first three replies. Did I miss anything?

Probablly already been said but cant be arsed to read through 11 pages. I think if he had this kind of money it could be spent much better. We could possibally get westwood free in the summer and i wouldnt heskey. Id be looking to get a Proven goal scorer, Naughton, A LB (possiblly cunningham), Mee, and a CDM.

Like i said earlier hes a Leicester boy and MAYBE a legend from the past... but thats it .. hes in the past. I understand the game very well. I agree you need a striker who can hold the ball up, and use their strength etc and im sure heskey could do that .... but so can Howard and so can Yakubu. All im saying is Leicester needs a prolific goal scorer to progress and not a replica of what we already have. We could use that money to bring talent of the future into the club and to me thats more important that a couple of old big names.

I heard a whisper you've bid £3m for Tó Madeira.

And Nicolas Millan. £7.5m. Great prospect.

Julius Aghahowa coming our way too.

And just for fun, let's get Hossein Kaebi back.

Heskey would be an awesome signing at this level, and he would be a hell of a lot lmore committed than the likes of Yakubu.

Givewn would be immense, but I am getting a bit tired of all these big name rumours, nothing more than uneeded publicity really.
