lol Think I deleted and re-typed some shit there and it now doesn't make sense.

I do. And I'm just sick of people taking the piss (eg. out of your OP) any time anyone even mentions it in a positive way. Every time anything about showing a little bit of commitment is posted, in whatever context, you'll get several people posting one word: 'pashun'.

They don't even read the post, they'll just see a few buzzwords and instantly their simple sheep-like brain will instruct them to write those 6 stupid-as-**** letters.

People have taken it a little bit too far, but I would say it masks genuine concerns about the blinkered views of some fans. However, we need to remember that if we don't sign Yakubu (whose style started the whole passion debate) it won't be down to these fans, it will be between Sven and Yak, with maybe a bit of Moyes thrown in there.

In response to the OP, I don't think it's fair to compare Castro's loyalty with that of any Footballer, it's not even appropriate to link him with other Rugby players. He's simply a superb individual.

We can't expect that kind of 'grateful for what I've got' attitude from any of our players I'm afraid. The guy could go to France and earn twice as much and play week in week out, all of our players would jump at a similar kind of opportunity.

Good points and I genuinely appreciate the root of this because there are plenty that will post and demand Waghorn instead of Yakubu. Save this for them. When it's someone posting perfectly reasonably with none of this 'he runs around so he must be better' shit it just highlights the stupidity on here.

I think it has become easy for people to throw the "passhun" word in there and immediately discount the (what i believe OP's theory was) commitment that some footballers show. No it doesnt make them better players, or make them capable of playing above their ability, but there are those players who will pull out of a 50/50 and those that wont. Those that wont are "generally" the ones with a greater commitment or investment in their club/team/shirt.

I have no complaints about Sven bringing in loanees as he got together the best possible team he could, but i also have no doubt that a loanee playing in the last meaningless (and by meaningless i mean on a promotion/relegation standpoint, we all know that every game is important to us fans but then we have passhunn) game of the season, will not risk his future by throwing his entire body at a 50/50.

Commitment can be because you are a lifelong fan, because you were given an opportunity by a club whe no one else would, because you develop a relationship with a manager or with the fans, In the end, i will take Yak ahead of Waggy, because Yak, whilst appearing in my eyes to be a somewhat mercenary player, is still the player who is most likely to help the team ( i support passhunatly) WIN!

Tigers have the good fortune to be the rugby equivilant of Man Utd though.

Maybe more of the City players might speak thus if they played for Man U?

This is exactly right.

IF I SEE SOMEONE POST 'PASHUNN' IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER AGAIN I'M GOING TO politely ask you to stop because it's irritating me ever so slightly.

The obvious response to which is:

PASHUNN!

This appears to be something you feel very fervent about. :giggle:
