So does anyone still think im stupid for suggesting St Ledger should start over Bamba?

I would hope not. I've been saying it since watching him get turned inside out by every decent striker in the championship towards the end of last year, if Tunch was fully fit Mills/Tunch would be erotic. Still not sure on SSL as I dont like buying players from relegated teams....

But then again you cant sing St Ledger to a catchy tune can you?

Can we just confirm this then please. Sol Bamba is LCFC scapegoat 2011/12?

Clumsy bastard conceding a goal vs 3d best team in Spain. New signing = must be better.

If we want to win the Champions League it needs to be better...

following on from last season's series of

clumsy bastard concedes numerous goals V Coventry, Watford, Reading, Cardiff etc etc

If he is at fault for goals I'll point it out, I wont just let him off incase I'm accused of making scapegoats.

Did Bamba play left CB?

If he played left CB I understand why he had a hard time.

Are people still seriously suggesting than standing ten yards further to the left in his centre half duties turns this guy from a world beater to a clown?

It would be funny it he wasnt marauding on through the oppositions half a lot of the time. :

Trust me, you (and others) are lining Bamba up to be this years scapegoat, whether you realise it or not.

So he played badly towards the end of last year, who the hell didn't defensively?

He also played very well in certain games. Why isn't he being bigged up as something incredible?

I'll let you into a little secret. It's called FORM. Personally I'd happily start SSL but we've not even finished pre season and we're trying to find excuses and scapegoats already. ****in' Ridiculous.

Some players have a hard time changing position. I can't recall any goal conceded by his mistake when playing right CB but a lot of goals conceded when he played left CB.

Ask yourself why Sven persist on playing him left CB instead.... There's a reason for everything.

I didn't think Bamba was too bad before the end of last season.

It's a major case of revisionism. Jeff Bruma was (in my opinion, rightly, despite a magnificent performance away at QPR) getting slated for our defensive issues until he banged in 2 30-yarders playing in midfield and people thought 'he's clearly good after all, someone else must be to blame'. It can't have been Naughton, because he was brilliant, it probably should have been PVA because he was utter garbage, but people have settled on Bamba.

Before we hit our shaky patch, Bamba was absolutely immense. Why focus on the few poor performances when there are just as many excellent ones? As part of a consistent back 5 I have no doubt he'll thrive.

Naughton played well, Bruma was ok last 3 or 4 games. Vitor did ok as well.

We are not lining him up to be a scapegoat, we just simply realise he is costing us a hell of a lot of goals and watching pres season every single goal we seem to concede is coming from a mistake made by him? What do you actually want me to do? Just ignore it, stand up and sing Sol, Sol Bamba?

We have an absolutely fantastic chance of going up this season, I have spotted a major weak line in the side that could cost us that, I am not going to ignore it whether you like it or not.

...and like I said, I am not convinced by SSL either, both and defending ability and on his attitude and the way he behaves himself around football clubs as anyone who watched the Peterboro doc a few years ago will know.

Fans have to voice dissent sometimes, if they hadnt last year Sven would probably still have Ricardo in goal.

Any pro footballer should not have any trouble for as minor adaptation as that, strikers swop over all the time, if Bamba conceded more at LCB last season it would be more likely be covering PVA than KN.....though that still still doesnt explain the amount we conceded coming across the area where he was nowhere or the amount of times a move started that ended in a goal with him sat on his arse in a position miles from where he should be.

There is a reason why fans complain how players adapt to new positions.... Look at Vassell, Waggy and our previous players Hobbs and Fryatt.

It's a pity I couldn't watch the game.... :(

I do yes, I lived in the woodlands on and off for a few years whilst I worked in Houston.

Do you go to any Dynamo games?

Cool, know the Woodlands a bit for golfing etc

Go to the odd Dynamo game, not as often as I used to though but was a season ticket holder in 2007.

Houston Fox Gally wears adidas adipower predators ;)

Cheers fella!

Not long travelled back from Austria and I have to say that Kasper and Mills looked good. King again was pretty poor and we definatly need another striker, can't rely on Nugent all the time and spoke to Yann and he said that if he doesnt get played then he will leave. (hope we give him a chance though, everyone deserves another one)

I'd say you're very much panicking and exaggerating.

We've conceded four goals in five pre-season games, and maybe one of these four was Bamba's fault (the miss against Mallorca in Stockholm).

If this is not scapegoating - what else is it?

Actually I was referring towards the end of the last season in the main....

Great trip wasn't it Adam, totally agree with your comments, konchesky was also brilliant I thought. Schulp not quite ready but looking sharp (was being coached in game by konchesky and wellens) :)
