Valencia match thread

Interesting game

Our defence has had one hell of a workout. It's a shame they're of a standard that we haven't been able to get much going up front apart from a few Vassell runs towards the end of the 1st half, beginning of the 2nd.

I think we can take more positives than negatives from this game. You can definitely see a much higher quality of football compared to last season. Some glimpses of quality, good passing movement at times against a good passing side, defending very well - conceding only one goal against a top Spanish and European side is impressive, got into some good positions. However, we are lacking that cutting edge that we need (most notably Howard towards the end) but a couple more attacking options and we should be set for next season. This is a very good team that Sven is building! :)

Defence seems to live up to its expected standards so far. Think we're having the problem of creating too many opportunities but not scorin still.

Good run out I think, Valencia are different class and the way spanish teams play football should be a lesson to everyone.

Now go and get that striker :sge:

Hehe, i just realised Sven's plans through the friendlies... show how much we need a striker, to ensure the cash is splashed ;)

We were a striker short of a strong and balanced team. I think we all knew that but boy was it obvious.

And a right winger. I've said it many times I'm happy with Gally in there on the left at the mo but I still think we need someone like Routledge on the right flank. Saying that, not seen too much of Nugent yet so he might be the answer.

Personally would say Nugent is good enough. As far as the starting 11 goes I think we just need a striker.

At least we're hearing mostly positive stuff after today's game.

I think the club did well in getting a mixture of pre-season games against varied quality of opposition.

Another striker is essential though.

Off topic: Am ex pat indeed and been here just over 4 years and heading the way of the Yank. We live just north of 610 and Shepherd if you know it.

Back on topic: Thoughts on changes at h-t? I say keep going a little longer, Vas doing his dancing at the end was one of those glimpses on what he can do and they had a repeat of Man City v West Ham with Vas playing and he was awesome, so quick and twisty turny.

Kind of on topic: Can anyone tell what boots Gally wears? Me likey...

I do yes, I lived in the woodlands on and off for a few years whilst I worked in Houston.

Do you go to any Dynamo games?
