But Shane Long for me, got age on his side, no big injuries (that I know of) had a great season after it seems he has matured and grown into the role of being a main striker since this days of Doyle, lita and kitson and reading! Plus pace to burn, and last season shown his great eye for goals.. True 7 million is alot, however we are paying for potential, there's a reason PL clubs are interested in him

We can all bitch and moan and say that £7million is alot for potential (which it may be a little right now), but Liverpool payed £35million for Carroll, mainly on potential. If Long continues to mature and grow in to the player he should, £7million could be a fantastic price.
