foxes2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 It will be on bbc radio leicester i player later mate... Like this guy said go onto the iplayer i missed the original question time but i listened to it on there, be quick though because they only stay on there a few days, so if any one needs this info tune in to the below link, enjoy http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search?q=football%20forum
Tommy G Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 I asked the question regarding the captaincy and who is the biggest character at the training ground...thought it was reasonable considering some of the spags that got on. There was a bloke on who was almost in tears tooling about Sol Bamba and thanking Sven for playing him. I imagine he lives alone with a Sol Sol Bamba poster and his hand. I also got a quick chat with Jason Bourne who sounds like Charles Dagnall's son with his funny voice.
sdb Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Just listened, thought the majority of callers were fine, tbh. 2, maybe 3 weirdo's but that's not too bad. Sven was super. What worried me a little was the sense that Sven may end up panic buying a striker. 'Adam LaZonza? Yeah he's on the list'. I think he's getting to a point where he'll end up signing anyone who's scored a few goals. Maynard, Long, Yak...they're all fine (great, even), but if we can't get someone better than what we've already got, i'd rather we didn't waste the money on an Evans, Miller, etc. I fear Sven feels differently. Don't get me wrong, we need a striker, but no point buying someone no better than Waggy/Nugent.
marbelladave Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 For me the most interesting call of the whole show was the guy who said; "Of the 18 clubs who have gained promotion (over the last 6 years) only 4 have had a striker who has scored 20+ goals in their promotion season"....... Anyone with the time to check this out, be really interesting if it is true....

I thought Ian read a tweet/text out from you with the stat. Pretty sure it wasn't a call anyway. I remember him saying 'from our friend Foxblogger who is usually here every week' or something of that nature.

The only strikers to score 20+ goals for a team that won promotion to the Premier League in the last 6 seasons are; Marlon King (21) - Watford - 2005/06 Kevin Phillips (22) - West Brom - 2007/08 Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (25) - Wolves - 2008/09 Grant Holt (21) - Norwich - 2010/11
