I have recently stopped buying them due to their price.

Only the old school ones with the characatures of the players in. They were legendary. My younger brother used to trace them and claim them as his own.  <_<

I keep mine, but I hardly ever buy them in the first place. A couple (2-3) a season at most, simply because they are a rip off for what they are. £3.50 for something that doesn't have a poster anymore, and is only worthwhile reading before the game.

Sorry but no thanks.

they cost peanuts to make and they sell at ridiculous prices

Years ago I used to work on Peterborough United match programmes with the likes of Phil Hoare, Melvyn Beck and Russell Plummer. That's four people involved that I can remember and a considerable amount of time preparing the information, handling the layout arrangements and checking for mistakes. Not saying City don't overcharge but with the cost of plumbers, mechanics, builders and electricians these days... is it so extortionate considering the preparation costs?.

Yes.

I don't care about the preparation costs - and I'm sure many fans feel the same. You have to consider the total cost of attending a football match: £20/25 on the ticket, drinks before the game and/or at half time (plus snacks), travelling expenses, and then an additional £3.50 on a programme.

Besides, I'm sure part of the matchday ticket money goes towards the programme production, so it's not only the sales of programmes that generates an income/revenue for people on the production team.
