Guest Bilo Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 True. Still took around 3,800 didn't we though? My point was that Forest didn't get anywhere near selling their standard allocation at our place... Freezing cold Monday November night, on Sky, £30 a ticket. Elements that would test anyone's loyalty really.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 True. Still took around 3,800 didn't we though? My point was that Forest didn't get anywhere near selling their standard allocation at our place, when in previous seasons we've always taken very good numbers to their place... Fvck knows the exact amount I just remember there being at least 5 -10 rows at the front of the stand that no tickets had been sold for in any of the blocks.
Simmo86 Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Forest hasn't been fully standing for the past 2 seasons!

Personally don't think weather is a factor unless there's heavy snow ala. Ipswitch, the game at Forest was on Sky and this time tickets are £30 yet we're taking more than they brought to us. If you're contesting that our support isn't better than Derby and Forest then you do that. I'll stick with the notion that ours is better
leicesterseddon Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 Those OS reports make me cringe...Cov in the EM? Behave. For all the song and dance about selling large numbers of tickets to local away games, what is more impressive is our backing of 1500-2000 up and down the country every week consistently. That's the true test of good support, not loads of poeple going to Cov (I live in Kettering - it takes me longer to get to our ground than the Ricoh Arena).

The weather would have been a factor there it, was Baltic that night. It's not so much weather as temperature: clubs draw more at the start/end of a season when it's nice and warm than they do on a windy Tuesday night in mid-november where only an absolute mentalist would turn up with less than a jumper atop his/her shirt.

Oh yeah, those Baltic conditions that prevented thousands making the journey from Nottingham to Leiester. I travel from Sheffield for every home game and managed to be there despite it being on tv. Can't say I've ever been put off attending a Leicester game because it's going to be cold watching. You know what the weather is before the match and you wrap up accordingly. Quite surprised so many are keen to defend a following that was so abysmal by Forest. I've got Forest supporting mates who were disappointed with the turn out at our place last year
stix Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 I dont think anyone is 'defending' a maybe under par turnout from forest last season but merely putting across opinions as to why the turnout was below average. i commend you for travelling down from sheffield to support your team but unfortunately it sometimes isnt viable for everybody else. Maybe, just maybe people are unable to attend EVERY single game. Maybe they decided not to go as it was a monday night and they had to be up early in the morning so thought it easier to watch it on the tv. Maybe they have kids that were at school in the morning so didnt want to have them up later than usual. Saturday games and indeed as has been said games at the start and end of the season are easier for some people to plan for, longer days, kids off, nice warm evenings etc. Games on tv/midweek games=lower gates stop being a dick
